You could try auto glym scratch remover, use it on 1 finger in a cloth along the scratches, not across.
Good luck, hope it comes out before paint is required

Ffs. Hit and run Chris?

Yep. Tesco today, I figure, although in fairness I don't exactly look at that part very often.

Ouch!

G3 followed by 3M Finess or equivellent, good luck.

3M Finesse? Just by hand? Cheers

Thanks. Never had much luck with that in honesty. I had a tube of GS27 for years. That wasn't bad, but it separated :)

Oh well. It's just a car....

Oh, FFS, Cat. That's a ballache considering all the other you have to deal with at the moment. Sorry, friend.

On the upside, you'd be amazed what will polish out.

Thats a pain, always p155ies me off when this happens who ever did it knows they did but isn't honest enough to own up.

Most of that should polish out though

To be fair, it's such a minor impact I wouldn't be surprised if the other driver didn't even notice. But deffo a ball ache.

Perhaps if they were playing candy crush on their phone but anyone paying attention to their driving would have been aware of this, I bet it made quite a noise. Really boils my blood when this happens.

And breathe out. As you say, it's only a car, good luck with the repair.

Nah, don’t bother to try and polish that one out, move straight to the colour sand process.

If you cock it up it has to be repainted anyway.

Warm soapy water, 1200 grit wet and dry followed by 2000 then 3000 then hit it with the cutting compound.

A body shop or mobile smart repairer wound probably be best to throw £50 at.

Tempted, Matt. But it's such a pig to match the colour (apparently)

Other things are taking my time right now but I shall think on

Yes Chris, as with the G3 on a pad and clean up thoroughly between grades of cut. You can go between the G3 & Finesse quite happily it will polish up the G3 perfectly.

If you have claybar, you could clay the area first it will remove any contamination and bits sticking up making the G3 work more efficiently.

That sucks - I hate to see car park rash, my wife’s car is covered in it.

Like you, I use my car and do park it Tesco car parks and such like but since having a few knocks I now have a front and rear movement and g sensor activated dash cam. At least I will see any ****** that damages my car and drives off.

Looks to me like anything other than a repaint will be a compromise.

Matt correct IMO, I don't think you will be able to polish that out, I can see primer. Sorry mate, sandpaper or smart fix IMO.

I meant to just sand the lacquer...it’s quite thick and you will be amazed what you can get away with.

If you want to run it down to me I’ll do it FOC for you and will take about half an hour to do. Wednesdays is the best day for me.

I have both bar and mitt. Sounds like a plan
Thanks, Newton. I'll need to make some time (and time is at a premium), but.... will see how it goes.

Thought about dash cams but so far seemed like too much effort. Probably will seem like it in a fortnight <shrug> Much appreciated, nonetheless.

You're right, I will be amazed. ;) It's been repainted in my ownership, and not to a level I was entirely happy with (see posts passim ref Essex specialists) so it' a bit 'suck it and see'
