Sorry, there is just something about the 488 I dont like...am I aloud to say that?

The 458 that it replaces was just such a jaw dropping car.

No denying the performance though, mind bending.
I agree Matt

Me too, not that I will hit those heady heights, but it would be a 458 for me, unless someone is giving away a Portofinio.....[/QUO
They are impossible to get at the moment sub 210 Dave... that’s my next stop. I relented and had to try and AM in the mean time. I have to say I am blown away.

Does the 650 sound better, Bob? The prices of those continue to tumble. Even the 720 is comfortably sub-£200k now. I'd be in one of those before a Pista.

I wouldn’t touch a Macca for the simple reason that they are a financial nuke. A mate of mine bought a specced up 650S Spider brand new for £225k (discounted from £257k). It’s now coming up to 3 years old, 21k miles and is worth about £120k. MacLaren want £8k a year for an extended warranty and you can’t sell it without one. FWIW, MacLaren won’t take one back as SOR unless it is used as p ex for a new one. Also, there is absolutely no infrastructure overseas so if it goes phutt, it’s a trailer home whatever the fault. Great cars, but you are liable to get your fingers burnt if anything goes wrong.

Yup and a distinct lack of soul. They may be fast but they don’t do it with any style at all IMHO. No thanks

If I dropped the bingo lottery thing I would pay the money for a Portofinio, and an FF in Tdf Blue........keep dreaming

I have left about 50 off. Didn’t think the forum would be interested!

Sorry, I find these track tool cars all look pretty similar and fail to move me looks-wise. I'm sure they're awesome pieces of kit but I struggle to see the soul in them. YMMV.

Yes, you're right on the depreciation front, Ben. I didn't know about the SoR point or about the extended warranty, though. Thank gawd I can't afford one or I'd be in bother. I have now decided to not buy a Portofino instead.

Bloody **** Iain, I have missed something.......When did you get the DB11..... My favourite marque and you didn't say. Love it my friend. How you finding her. Is it the V12 or V8 ? Black really suits the DB11 and love those carbon badges.

It arrived on Thursday.. after some prolonged dicussion. I am blown away. I haven’t seen one with options like it before- and it makes a huge difference from the standard model. Most non car lovers I would guess- would not have a clue what it was.

It’s the V8- I found its newer, lighter, sounded much better and was much much more driver focused.
The tech is a different level from competitors following the partnership with Mercedes and I love things like the 360o camera which means I can happily go through drive throughout and into supermarkets without gritting my teeth quite so much. It’s very usable but still feel very special driving it.
I still need a red 458 in my life at some point but hopefully I can keep this one long term... my friends and family certainly approve more of it than the F.

It's just stunning Iain. The V8 is suppose to be the better DB11 according to the press. More agile without the weight in the front. Well done my friend and don't forget to pop by if you are ever passing.

Ive not taken much notice of new cars recently, that DB11, jeez! That is a head turner, the rear, especially in black... holy sci-fi bat man! It looks like you've driven a concept model away!

Love it!

Ian, that's an absolute beauty. Perhaps a special thread dedicated to it so you don't have to mention the F-word to talk about it?
