Forget your stelvios and continental routes. Get to Scotland BUT get higher than Inverness, that's where it's at

Errr - yes & no :) Some great driving roads up there no doubt but some, equally enjoyable, further South too. The Border routes for instance are spectacular in the late Autumn. My personal favourite though is the West Coast around the Kintyre peninsula. Start at Fort William head South, via Oban for a fish supper, to Cambletown for a wee dram of 21yo Springbank. Home the next day through the Trossachs and back to civilisation :)

Yeah very true, I’ve just always found further south busier during holiday season anyway, like Glen Coe for example great roads around there just too many tourists for period I’ve gone but definitely plenty to choose from and world class scenery to boot
