Good morning everyone, I'm starting the hunt for a 4200 (currently got a pan Alfa Brera) as a weekend car. I'll have between 10 and 15k to spend I'm fairly good with the spanner's although I realise that the 4200would need specialist care in certain areas.
So I'm going to trawl through the forums and see what I can find out and probably ask a few questions along the way.
Thanks for having me and I look forward to a happy association with sports Maserati.

All the best
Simon

A big warm welcome...As above Martyns car....best on the the market for the money you want to spend and the new clutch is a bonus.

http://www.sportsmaserati.com/showt...or-sale-new-clutch-and-just-serviced-£15-995

Thanks for the welcomes.
I'd love to take a look at Martyn's car but won't have the funds until I raid my pension pot in September.
I'm enjoying reading the threads and getting to know the ins and outs of these cars.
Has anybody ever posted a definitive buys guide to the 4200?

Welcome, good luck with the search. We also have a Brera, but used as a daily. :)

Mines used as a daily, but that all stops in September so thought I'd go for something that I've wanted for a long time. Wouldn't fancy forking out for a 45 mile round trip commute in a 4200.

Mines a 2.4 had it for 3 years and 60000 miles and to be fair it’s been very reliable. Not spent anything major on it and anything that has needed doing I’ve done myself. Had a good few trips through France in it and found it very comfortable.

I had a lemon....Bought it to do up and caught a cold....
Put me off Alfas for life and I have had a few. The best being the GTV V6. Things went down hill after they ditched that engine. Or for me it did.

My 2.4 Brera does Leeds to Cambridge and back every week and has done so for 18 months as my daily driver. Only issue has been EGR valve. Great looking car if somewhat a tad of a let down to drive. Good luck with the 420.
