I know I am going to get the answer I don't want to hear but can you fit 3 children in the back of a Granturismo (are there enough belts or was there ever an option for 3 belts?)?

Looks like QP might be the only option!

Just two, the cars are 4 seaters due to only having 2 seat belts in the rear.

Gone are the days of a soccer team in the back of a Mk2 Escort...

Thanks for all the words of wisdom!

on a separate note, are high miler QPs to be avoided? There are some quite reasonably priced duo selects and the odd zf sub 14k? I wonder if they are a hot potato once bought.

If buying a QP, buy a good sub 50k miles example as the price differential to buying a high mileage one is a false economy. For a daily car, the ZF is better, for a weekend blast, a duo select sport GT is a great car but you’d struggle to find a good one nowadays, they’re all at least 12 years old.

A QPV is a great car for your circs (should have kept your ****** in your trousers!!) and you will not be disappointed
I would pick a full Auto ZF.
The Exec is top of the range (I believe) and the GT is the more sportier

Downside is there are limited re sale opportunities if you wish to change cars later on

I am biased though and Dicky is spot on as usual

Mines done 107k now, i use it every day, been spot on apart from when i first bought it, it certainly responds to daily use.

Had a Charles Hurst FSH, and was a much better drive than the other three i tried.

Not into full autos though, DS is great.

Cheers for the family planning advice, I will have a word with my wife!!

Dicky's advice is kind of what I thought was sensible.

Cheers all!

Agreeing with Wanderer here. - My Sport GT has 104K on, which is simply average mileage for all daily driver cars.

Would you rather have a low miles garage queen with all of the issues that will certainly arise when you dare to show it the road, or a higher miles daily driver that has proven its ability to start every day and get the job done in style, plus benefit from the lower buy price? - Any car properly maintained will look after you regardless of miles.

Declaration of interest, my fantastic QP Sport GT is on EBay right now (rich0999), full main dealer serviced and maintained from new, regardless of cost. - We’re moving to South of France in a few months now that the kids have moved on, so it can’t come with us as French drivers and roads might not be such good news for this big beauty. Have a look, message me if you need more info. Rich.

There is an auto 4.2 going through Blackbushe tomorrow on 113k miles.

Good luck with the move I hope it all goes well for you but I think you are making a mistake selling the QP. I love using mine in France, I have a big tour of the whole country planned for this summer which I'm eagerly looking forward to. I find the car really shines over there: the road surfaces are magnificent - you can hear the induction music above the tyre roar; less traffic; and everywhere I've taken it has been met with enthusiasm and respect by French drivers.

Cheers Michael, I feel the same actually, but wife has spent 12 months telling me that she wants a soft top for when we move to France, plus I won’t be touring but mainly on the coast road, so decision is sadly made after 4 glorious years of QP ownership. Those French roads are fantastic, many happy miles done on the way down to the Cote d’azure.

I remember the regret when I sold my first boat due to not being able to use it when work got too busy. I think that I’m going to feel exactlythe same when the QP goes. - gulp!
