You will get a car for 8k.......YOu could get a very high miles car for that and it could have been serviced well and looked after.......But, please get it looked over by an good Maserati specialist first as they are very rare at that money and would usualy need work doing to them.....Thats not to say you will not find a good one....

Here's a thought .....Phil on here has a blue 4200 with 100k on the clock which has been used and well looked after....He has just bought a Ferrari 456 and I think he is looking to sell and it will be in your price range..........This car is worth looking at...

hi,

i hear what you guys are saying, but iv only been looking for 5 days and i have already came across 2 cars, both of which id say are very nice examples for under £8000.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3896312.htm & http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MASERATI-...omobiles_UK&hash=item1c2806177e#ht_500wt_1416

so if thats what i found in 5 days surely more will come up? both of them would of been fine for me, but unfortunately both sold before i could do a deal.

Seems a reasonable appraisle for a seller anyway , but just a couple of things for you to note , new plugs and a good battery dont cure cel lights , this will generally be down to sensors or the throttle body/throttle pot ( £1200 at the dealer but not the end of the world at around £400 to fix via Boomerang(Luuk) on here who does a solid state one ) suspension actuator problems dont fix themselves , the plastic gear wheel shears and again the unit can be refurbed , details are on the tech section if you look

Good luck in your search

well if anyone sees one let me know, dont want a cat c or d but will take anything that needs bit of bodywork, mechanical repairs or anything that can be fixed and not effect resale value

The resale value thing is all relative where Catergorised cars are concerned , you buyem a lot cheaper , repair them ( the most important thing is you have them repaired correctly) and when resale time comes around your completely honest and sell it 20% or so under market value , the beauty of using this route is that you can usually end up with a far better car all round , low miles well looked after pre accident condition etc etc , this approach is only really suitable for people with access to the repair trade or that are a little hands on

One must remember that these cars as most high end cars get written off very easily nowdays due to high labour/repair costs/ storage charges hire charges/ assessor charges etc definately, im not advocating you should take this route worth just that its worth good consideration as your budget is on the low side ,

Loz has done this a few times before, maybe also to other non Masers too, so his insight is invaluable...easy to get caught out/make a mess of it if you aint done it before

Well, you can have another chance at the second one, although for a bit more cash....

Dealer who knows nothing about them bought it dirt cheap and is punting it on at a healthy mark up!

Same colour as my old one too - one of the best colours for a 3200. It's had approx half the number of services it should've had, but actually looks very clean (don't like the look of the expansion bottle though - perhaps suggesting a slowly rotting radiator?). But, has the carbon-option dash and spare wheel.
