Paint dilemma - Nero Carbonio

Hi all,

I'm currently refurbing the headlights on my Assetto Corsa (Nero Carbonio) and have hit a stumbling block regarding paint.
Does anyone here know if the original PPG paint can still be sourced from anywhere?
If not I will try to source an alternative but have confused myself in researching it.
I have searched the forum and a number of paint specialists and have found 3 paint codes which all claim to be Nero Carbonio.

The codes I have found are;
226520
290501
290506

All I know is that the original has a gold fleck in it rather than silver.
If anyone has any leads or advice on this it would be much appreciated before I make anymore unnecessary journeys.

The paint code is on the underside of the bonnet mate.

I managed to find this. I cant vouch that it is correct. There is also an alfa version of nero carbonio which is paint code 876/b 71804352

If you have the factory build sheet with the paperwork for your car the paint code should be listed on there.

"Muff Magnet Lilac" seems to be missing from your paint codes Phil ?

I am having my front spoiler touched up and there is indeed 3 different variants of Nero Carbonio. The painter had to mix up the 3 variants and compare to see which one was actually on my particular GranSport.

Yes Ru, that's the code that you should follow in order to get the correct match, unless your car has been re-sprayed of course and then it could be a bit of a lottery!

Ppg can still be got ok... I couldnt get a good match in ici or glasurit... Going to get ppg rep to scan my fuel flap on ppg machine and do another spray out card... If thats no good the flap can be sent to ppg for them to match... Check who your local ppg paint supplier is....

I can't find a number code on the bonnet unfortunately. I'm pretty sure I have narrowed it down to 2 codes so have ordered samples of each for comparison.

Stuart - Time permitting, the photos of a finished unit should be on in the next week. Hope you're making the most of the GTS in this weather.

That's great to hear. I've searched locally with no joy but will extend the search first thing tomorrow now I know its still out there.
I've been unsure it was still obtainable as everyone I've tried so far no longer supplies it.

Halfords have a paint match service at their bigger stores that uses a third party paint mixing system its around £12 for a touch up stick and to be fair they seem to get pretty accurate matches from the reviews I have read. Another option if the two samples you have ordered don't match up.

Im off work till after 20th july.. If no luck i can ask ppg rep who is closest supplier to you... Ppg and ici same company.. We are ici distributor and opposition in belfast do ppg!!
