I think it depends a lot on the type of epoxy... mine is costing me £990.

That was for supply and fit/ paint- is yours 990 for just the material?
Yours is looking fantastic mate! Transformation.

Thanks Iain, my £990 for the floor includes labour costs for painting the floor. However, the guy who is doing it is the builder we used to do a major refurb / extension on our house a couple of years ago, and who has almost become a family friend. As such, I suspect I may be getting mates rates on the labour as I know the cost of the epoxy (before any trade discount is roughly £550)

That's a really good price mate. Agree probably favourable rates but well deserved. How specialised a job is it? I have a couple of options of painters/ builders. Is it just a case of clean the floor then paint it in evenly or does it have to be levelled etc do you know? Looks like there is a huge range of epoxy options. I like the look of the white with silver flecks.
Very tempting to get a mirrored ceiling and a car with an exposed engine. I mentioned this to my wife and she was less than Impressed however

Thats enough, just do the ceiling and replace that tile and all will be good,

A white ceiling will make it even lighter.........

long thread that I confess to not having read through, but I have tiles - a kind of cement based one (about 2cm thick) and 20x20cm. They are very attractive and hard wearing. My garage is adjoined to the kitchen (not by mistake) so really is more of an extension of the house.

If I were to build a separate garage, I'm sure I'd go for epoxy. Make sure you fully read instructions and neutralize and dry cement before applying - I have had two large water tanks flake in 1 year with badly applied epoxy paint.

LOL - don't have the energy to paint the ceiling, but can see it may be phase 2 in a year or so... I'm also really happy with the floor and can't see what a tile would add!

I am thinking for a good hourly rate I will come down, board out the ceiling and paint it for you, I'll even put a tile in for free.

Tempting offer!

I can see having a proper ceiling would make it look smarter, but I'm not trying to create anything other than a functional, dust free garage. It's also easier being able to see the beams in the ceiling as I hang my bikes, ladders, etc, from them...

Seriously it looks miles better, I did mine on the old house and it did make a difference to the amount of dust on car. I still cleaned it before going out and putting away tho!!
