Yes they are since Martyn has now bought one the prices will drop off a cliff. Dave has also massively overpaid! :D

Those on AT have been sat around for almost a year.

They all look nice in the photos but as you know they may not stand up to closer inspection.

The majority are also with non specialist sellers and as you say are tagging their prices to those from RG etc.

Good cars are still going up.

he...Yep I do talk a load of that Dave.

I was taking the mick seeing how i've bought one, hard to convey sarcasm isn't it.

What will be will be, I aren't going to worry about values for a while, will plummet on Saturday when I crash through the 12k miles barrier.

My insurance is set at 3k miles " for now", which I reckon means I can have plenty weekend driving - unless we do a Euro trip.

May have to trailer to Marious and back for service ....lol...as if !!

Regardless - I'll have it for 2/3 years I suspect unless circumstances change.

Dave

Looks stunning but serious money

It is gorgeous but it's 20k more than I paid for mine (same colour, same year, almost the same interior) but with 40,000 fewer miles. So I can't really see why I would want to spend the extra money and worry about using it. I think I'll keep mine for 2 to 3 year and then buy Dave Walker's when its plummeted in price. Hint hint

Can't be many of this class left.

I do wonder what they are selling them for, not the cash but what are they replacing them with?

In the scheme of classic cars, its not that much money. I was looking at Specialist cars of Malton's website, they don't have much for that money, all their decent Porsches are much more. Same goes for anything Ferrari. You'd get a Mondial or a 348 or a 456 but not in the same condition. And if I was the owner of either of the two £40k GS's that have been up for sale, I would want something perfect.

I think the examples not selling and dropping in price on AT are due to a combination of factors;

- Time of year and the big freeze
- At least one of them is not in very nice condition, despite what the ad says
- Most buyers probably want their Maserati to have full leather
- They take longer to sell in silver.

One thing is for sure is that nice 30 to 50k miles cars wont keep rising by 10% p.a. and that trend will surely reverse at some stage. However, I think those super low miles examples like Dave has bought will continue to command top money.

Oh Hello - I think this is the one Marious beat me to last year....

Wow....that is tasty & my perfect GS I think. Too many miles though eh Dave?!

I think that is a car I would swap my 4200 for but it can't be worth more than 10k more than mine can it? Even then it makes my 4200 worth 35k which can't be right can it?

Grigio Alfieri is my favourite colour followed closely by my Grigio Nuvolari 4200 of course!

I actually think it hasn't done any miles since it sold last year!
And, it's only worth what some fool/mug (lol) is prepared to pay, but they all seem to sell eventually, by my reckoning RG has 5 GS parked I at his facility now. That's probably a record gathering!!!!

Also the GTS has become so cheap that for the price difference most people would get the GTS.. It leaves a GS permanently stuck under the GTS price unless it suddenly becomes a cult classic in itself.

Good GSs have become collectible, it's a modern classic and they made relatively few of them. That is not true of the GTS. And they are very very different cars. Unless you are just after a Maserati, if you want one, can't see you picking the other on the basis of price.
