Has anyone got a 4200 or GS unsilenced X-Pipe? Could be new or used.

Just would like to give my 4200 a little more sound. Without going for full the bananas straight through rear sections to replace the back boxes that I have in the garage!

Ive got a pair of Tubi style back boxes if you decide to go down that route in the future. I took them off my 4200 before it went so they are just sat in the cellar at the moment.

Thanks but looking for an unsilenced x-pipe ideally. I have a pair of straight through rear pipes in the garage from my previous 4200 but wanted something a little in-between EV silence and ASBO levels.

Hi Dean. I thought all X pipes were unsilenced anyway? The silencers being elsewhere in the exhaust system? Happy to be corrected on this though.
Anyways I don't have one for sale. But if you're wanting more sound without the straight through madness, you could try Jason at Jaren Metalworks? He'll take your existing back boxes, polish them to gleaming, but also remove a load of the wadding from the boxes. It's a half way between straight through madness and standard. Search my content from about 3 years ago and I posted a plug for Jason with pics. Or PM me. Anyway I was very happy with results

Nope. The original X-pipe has a 'resonator' which is effectively a silencer. I *think* GS or some QPs (dunno where that I got that idea) may have no resonator on the X-pipe, but I could well be wrong.

<edit>
According to Eurospares at least some of the GS came with a resonator on the X-pipe:

Every 4200 and GS i have had any dealings with either had the huge resonator which surrounds the factory X-pipe or the history of it being removed was known.

No idea if the USA spec cars didnt have the X pipe resonator fitted as standard.

Allegedly the US spec Gransports in the USA had an x-pipe without a resonator as per the parts list. But they are so rare that a picture of the part with that number does not exist on the internet.
