Just got back from a good evening out; spent an hour buttonholing the head of Maserati sales Uk. A very nice chap and an interesing chat. I took it easy going but gave it some on the way back and it is, as always, life reaffirming. What a car. Night all.

Any inside goss, Ben ?

Nothing confidential; there is a new Gransport under consideration but nothing has got out yet but it unlikely to be a two seater a la 4C. Maserati regards themselves as a niche marque that provides elegant grand tourismos and the general ethos is four seaters with sufficient performance to attract enthusiastic drivers. There are no plans to go anything less than a V6 turbo (Diesel or petrol) and there may be new petrol V8s in the future but it hasn't yet been decided whether or not to put the QP6 V8 in the Ghibli. Initial sales figures for the Ghibli look good and when the 4x4 pitches up the 3000 p/a uk units looks very achievable. They are not out to rival BMW or Audi, they are out to scratch the surface but remain under the radar whilst providing enough revenue to develop new models without sacrificing exclusivity. I have to say a remarkably upbeat chap who was reassuringly positive about the future.

Well goodnight all, I think I will have an early one, done loads today and just found 2 massive branches have come partly off one of our many large tress and are partly hanging near our deer fence, so they will have to come off..!! Hoping for decent weather so I can get this job done with the old chain saw..!!

I took the spyder for a cross country thrash to Woodford and back today as its been a while and she keeps reminding why I love her so much; she always provides the old '******** tingle'. What a car, she never gets old! Night all.

Took the Maser for a drive tonight. I ended up driving with a lot of kms with windows down at 6 degrees.. The engine, the gearbox, the larinis, the smell of the leather...all were there to remind me that the 4200 is a gift to myself, and a gift for my hard work.

Love this engine, missed soo much driving her. Goodnight everyone.

Dropped off the kids at school this morning and picked them up this afternoon. Both times I took the Maser (the boys love it when dad drives).
On the way we were photographed twice by two different people in two separate cars from behind us.
This afternoon on the the way back, I saw a black Gran Tourismo in my rear view mirror coming up behind me like a bat out of **** being driven by a woman who took a photo of the back of my car on the move and then another when I had to pull up at the lights.
Maybe they like the carbon fibre boot lip :)
