hi to all,

finally succeeded to connect with the software of Sander: Can anybody advise if you have seen these error codes before?

I am thinking of the MAP sensor..

I've been trying to set this up for a while now to no avail. I've wired a 12 cigerette lighter plug to the power so i can run in car diag. Haven't been able to get a connection so far though as i think i am missing a driver.

More than likely the cable doesn't have the FTDI chip on it.

I've had the same codes at some point but not the same state. New TB and MAP sensor fixed the issue. It was the MAP sensor downstream of the TB so the one on the inside of the wing.

Now that my 3200 is gone I don’t need the 3pin fiat connections (photo in the first post) if any needs the cable let me know, I don’t want any money only postage. PM if interested or I’m in KT25DJ if you’re nearby.

Hello everyone, probably a really dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway! It seems to me that all of this stuff with laptops and cables is a bit of a nightmare if your car suddenly goes into limp mode in the middle of the night miles from anywhere as my 3200 periodically has done in the past - Luckily it was a 2001 car with the OBD II plug and my **** was saved literally dozens of times by a £15 code reader from e-bay which cleared the codes 9 times out of ten and away we went . Sadly that car has been written off in an accident (don't get me started!) and I am looking seriously at replacing with a 2000 car which I discovered today has the 3 pin connector. Am I right in thinking that you couldn't just change the end of the cable and wire in an OBD II end instead of the 3 pin bleeder and then use the little portable code reader in the manner I've described above? Sounds too easy and I'm sure some of you more tech-savvy folk would have already done that and this thread wouldn't be 15 pages long so I suspect this isn't possible! If that is the case then is it possible to change the ECU to a 2001 or later version and then do the plug change? Knowing how temperamental they can be I feel pretty alarmed at the prospect of driving one without an easy solution to ECL and limp mode issues. Sorry if these are glaringly stupid questions but not too hot on the technical side and just thought I'd ask!
Best wishes,
Kim

Not possible. You will have to change the ECU including the entire loom because there are several modifications (some even quite unknown) depending on the VIN of the car.
Easier to get the right diagnosis-kit

I could never get windows 8 to work so bought an old windows xp laptop from eBay and managed to get it working.

Good idea, a cheap, but more importantly, slow laptop does the trick. I used to keep an old Toshiba for each of my old TVRs worked great. Sometimes old is better ;)

As a newcome and seemingly lucky with my experience(owner of 3200 for 5 years) this forum is absolutely brilliant so thank you all.
Unfortunately I now have the need to read and use rather than simply read and hope I don't experience. I have the early 3200 and have ordered the Fiat 3-16 pin adaptor (awaited from Ebay) BUT, ............I'm an Apple user! Is there any advice out there on appropriate compatible software please? Many thanks Mike

Not that I'm aware of, can you not run Windows on the MAC as a Vmware. There are how to guides on there, that MIGHT work but I've not tested.

I bought an old XP portable pc from eBay about £15 from memory and only used it for the Unidiag software. So that might be an option.

Or, thinking about it, must I buy a windows op system PC just for this use ?

Yes Unidiag is coded for Windows so it won't run on a Mac OS. As redsonnylee say it might be worth buying a very old laptop or portable pc to run this on and be part of your diagnostics kit. I might have an old netbook lying around I can sell you if I can dig it out.
