Wanted : Gransport

I bought my GS from RG just two years ago. He is very knowledgeable and gave me good advice and guidance. His cars are inspected by Autoshield Maserati who are an excellent specialist and prepped to a high standard. I'd suggest if you go for cars privately or non-specialist, that you have a professional independent inspection from a marque specialist. I am relatively new to Maserati and learning (the other being a Porsche Turbo) and the GS is a small numbers car. So there tends to be only half a dozen or sale on public sites. Your desire for Fuji Bianco may mean having to wait a long time. Have a chat with RG and take it from there.

Many thanks for all the advice and welcome...

Fortunately I do also like the Grigio metallic too (is this the grey almost blue tone?)

And red but I assume this is also a rareity

Thanks again guys

Mine is Grigio Nuvolari. There is also a more silver colour - Grigio Alfieri I believe. I have the LE with full cream leather (Avorio colour I think) with Grigio Mercury 19" Trofeo wheels. I stare it throughout the day - even after two years!

There may be a black one coming up soon. The chap buying my MCV is using his GS as a part ex via Richard Grace. So definitely worth calling him.

I've only driven standard Vantages (not Bamford ones or the N400) and I found them noticeably slower and less sporty than the GS. For me, the GS is the sports car, the standard 4.3 Vantage the tourer. Indeed, back when the Vantage was launched a frend of mine bought one at considerable expense. He was soon bored and swapped it for a second hand GS at half the price and he much preferred that. But I fully accept that modifying the AM to give more power would change matters.

At a budget of £25k the AM isn't really an option. To get a good one and a power upgrade you'd need at least another £10k.

How about the forum car discussed in a recent thread - the one that may (or may not yet) need a new clutch? Only £20k, so leaving plenty in the war chest for future works.

As for Bianco Fuji - you have a choice of one and it's doesn't have full leather. You could retrim the tech-cloth sections if you wanted to, but it would be a better investment to keep it original and learn to love it. That particular car may need a bit of work, but it's all do-able.

Take a look at RGs gallery page and you will get a good idea of what is/has been available over the years.

there are few for sale at any one time so you could wait for years for the perfect one...and you know sods law it will come on for sale the week after you buy yours.

Also the Maserati Club UK site has a classified section and a few pop up there for time to time as well as some of the Indi dealers own sites.

Thanks for the recommendations from all of you. I do have 2 GS’s due in well within budget and a Fuji car too but it would be more than the £30k limit. I’ll email you all about them shortly Woots, thanks for the email.

Good luck with the search Woots.

Chez Dicky is definitely the right place to start your search.

And weirdly one is coming up for sale which I spotted a few years ago and left the owner a note...stunning car

Just a few K over budget sadly!

Depends how much over budget. These are pretty scarce cars. So it can sometimes be better to stretch the budget for the right car. Had I not stretched my budget I would not have bought my car and I'd probably still be waiting. In the 2 years I've had it, its been depreciation free and risen in value. Under that belief, I stretched the budget, lived a little tight for 12 months and now have a very desirable GS with Autoshield looking after it for anything (I don't attempt DIY on my cars despite being fairly knowledgeable about cars). So see the Bianco Fuji one and then decide if there is desire matched by 'budget stretch'.

Ah that would be amazing! I think I’ve only ever seen one around here which was parked up at Xscape years ago, even left them a note but no reply haha! A look around and chat would be amazing! I’m going away tomorrow for 2 weeks with work but when I’m back does that suit?

nop not me at the Xscape otherwise I would have replied...

yep thats fine, see ya in 2 weeks... my GS hopefully will be a good reference point for you

drop me a PM with your email address and we'll arrange a meet

Nuvola is a great guy to work with and has a mass knowledge on Maserati, Nuvola provided the best after service I've had from any dealer - highly recommend him when buying a Mas
we also have our very own dealer on the site, who has good feedback: Richard Grace, I would start with these two.

get on the phone and talk to Richard Grace. I went to see him to have a chat about a Granturismo and discovered what my budget would buy (4.2 slush-box auto) and it would not be a depreciation-free car as prices continued to tumble in the past two years. I went back the next day and bought a GranSport! Inspected by Autoshield and prepped to a very high standard. When it comes to change, I'll talk to Richard first about swapping it for something else.

The advice is stretch to it or negotiate hard, it's a buyers market right now and cars are not selling.
