Yes. Ended up having to replace the front. At least two lots of accidents and bodged repairs in the original. I did salvage the left wheel arch line that was in about five bits.

Is it a bespoke cage you are going for?

Loving the drag beetles they have there too

Yes. No one seems to do an off the shelf one for a Vette. They’re also doing a frame to mount the seats as the thoughts of them being on a fibreglass floor are a bit scary.

Yes, good idea about the frame - do you have a seat already? I have a spare Sparco Pro Adv I will be selling shortly if you're interested.
That split window looks bonkers!

Yes I’ve got a seat. The inside of a Vette is so small I’ve had to get the narrowest I can find. The types with the head restraints like your Sparco won’t fit as the cockpit is too narrow which is daft considering at 4.5m long and almost 2m wide. It’s not too far off a GT in size.

Looks like it's in good professional hands! I see they have an Oval on the lift. But what a waste of a split back window rag top!! If your going to turn a bug into a drag car then use a later bug, not a super rare early 50's example!!

I have a feeling it's not a genuine split window - the proportions & the shape look wrong to me, perhaps it's a retro recreation?

I hope your right Stu as I know you can get rear window kits to make your car look like an oval or a split (but the purist would be able to tell a mile off) looking at the thickness of the door and window surrounds it is certainly no younger than a 64 though! It has a one piece front end and a roof chop!
