This brings back memories! This was huge in Scotland at the time. I was too young to drive so wheeled a car battery, aerial and CB radio in a shopping trolley (before we got hand held!) all around Erskine. First lesson learned was not to meet a lassie you've never seen before in the middle of the Erskine Bridge. Shame CB didn't have video capability!

Wasn’t there a “thing” that some CB radios could affect the petrol pumps of the day - meaning cheap fuel for those in the know -

think i still have that amstrad one, used them many many moons ago when in convoy travelling abroad, remember having the magnetic roof aerials, they were very handy to stay in contact with each other or if we lost each other, had a right laugh with them as well, I remember once travelling through France on a motorway and some nob right up my tail pipe flashing me and we were both pushing pedal to metal in the XR3i's , radioed ahead to my mate, i pulled over and allowed him through and then boxed him in and slowed down, he was not a happy bunny
