Well been and done it
Maserati QPV Exec GT sold on wbac for £7200
Been thinking a while about this and bit the bullet today.
Prompted by the age of the car (spares availability, cost of, increasing service costs etc) and lack of sophistication.
I have been test driving other cars for a friend to purchase and was struck by how primitive the QP is compared to todays models.
I have owned the car for 7 years and loved every minute. I bought it as a treat to myself whilst going through an exceptionally hard time.
WBAC were efficient and fair, they knocked money off for repair work needed on rear arches (stone chips) and lack of this years service. I explained I only put it back on the road in August and they agreed and refunded £200 they calculated for the missing service
So what is next? dunno but probably not a Maserati. The Ghibli is the only one that interests me and that too has flaws.
I would dearly love it to be a Maser but the range that I can afford is not realistic.

QP6 too big
GT GC long in tooth
Ghibli possibly
Trofeo cannot afford

So fare well and thank you all for the humour and help. I may pop in now and then to keep you right on Brexit and Covid etc after all I am correct!

Hugs to all even Wattie!

Best of luck mate. QPV/GT/GC now look old and drive old so I understand your decision. They are fine for a bit of fun as a second/third car (lots will have a go at me here) but the parts prices makes them difficult to justify as a long term daily driver. Seven years is a good show and demonstrates great commitment to the brand.

Depending on price I would go for a 5 series BMW, probably with a six cylinder engine whilst you can.

Mind half the posters on here (by volume) don't own a Maserati anymore so there is no need to leave.

Well correct! When I sold my QP GT S in 2015 I stuck around until 2019 when I bought my QP S and now GTS! We are a community

Well I've never had a new car or nearly new even so I'm used to to 15 year old tech as being current so I'm happy to keep mine...

Dave, I wish you all the luck for the future and look forward to seeing what you buy. We all love Maserati and the QP is just one of their best but I think you may have hit the nail one the head. They are getting old, looks amazing, cheap to buy but not to run.....Hard to believe though that your lovely car was £7200. Take care.

As above stay around you don't need a Maser to be on here.

Car wise and I never thought I would say this, BMW 6 pot is the way to go. My ageing 3 Series ticks all the boxes but a bit long in the tooth but my mate came over the other week in an E60 530d, 2007 with 60k miles and he only paid £3.5k which got me looking and you can pick up 2010 cars with not mega mileage for under £10k
