I think we are coming to the end of the era of N/A ICE sportscars with a manual box and was looking for something raw to add to my road collection as the DB4 is not road legal.
I tried an Atom and BAC Mono, then by chance came across this GT40 replica. With my Le Mans connections it’s seemed to fit the bill so went to see it for a test drive........
Frack me! 430bhp with less than a tonne to propel. No ABS, power steering, traction control or driver aids whatsoever. Just a huge pushrod V8, 5 speed manual box and rose jointed suspension. This is not some cheap and nasty kit car with a Q plate, but a CAV factory built replica with no expense spared and a proper 1960’s age appropriate registration.
Zero practicality but probably the most exciting thing I have driven on the road ever. Made my DB4 seem civilised and slow. Think I’m hooked and waving goodbye to best part of £100k next week!
