Did they not use something from the Chrysler parts bin?Hi all, can anyone recommend where to source pads and discs for a diesel Ghibli? Main dealer prices are ridiculously high.
That's what I assumed when I purchase the car, I could get away with relatively cheap maintenance as the running gear is Chrysler but I cant seem to find the common parts they share.Did they not use something from the Chrysler parts bin?
Thanks! I think that's my best bet.On the discs, I think you are stuck. Maybe try Scuderia car parts as OEM is the only way to go.
For pads, it depends which calipers you have (4 or 6 pot) but there will be a few non-OEM options. Try looking at the Ferodo or Mintex catalogues.
Always has been, and add the unscrupulous practises of preventing people from buying equivalent parts from another brand.Best of luck. One the reasons why many people give up on Maserati - parts prices.
I know legendary US radio car talkshow hosts "Click & Clack" used to talk about this method. If within thickness tolerance, have you considered disc skimming ? If it’s just to remove a lip or uneven wear this could be a cheap solution.
Normal operation if there is sufficient tolerance in the thickness. I would not bother with cheaper discs, but given the Maserati prices it is worth the £200 I was quoted a while back.I know legendary US radio car talkshow hosts "Click & Clack" used to talk about this method.
