A much better photo. It actually looks a lot better from this angle. I remember it was a very comfortable ride.

Actually TR7's are good to drive, Its just the public weren't ready for such a radical departure from what Triumph made before

I happened to be on the BL dealer liaison team at the time when they were first launched, Around the Gaydon test track they were quicker then the then currant Alfa 2000 GTV, ok that was an older design but never the less!

What I do remember at the time about TR7’s is the build quality or rather lack of it. Doors falling off and the likes.

Probably more to do with the final days of BL and the strikes that justice was not served on the car.

For those who weren’t ready for the radical looks there was always the Acclaim. Remember at the time and being maybe 13. Why the Acclaim after the TR. sad days.

Oh, and had a Scalectrix (200 figure of eight?) with a red and a yellow TR7 in rally livery.

I never had a TR7 but my god parents did. My lasting memory was being taken out in it sat behind and between the two seats on several occasions.

The interior light / map torch that was on a telephone style bungie cord and sort of looked like a CB radio mike that sat on a bracket behind the two seats. I was about 5 at the time so a torch / pretend radio kept me occupied for hours.

This was my TR7 'leaving the building' after approx. 15 years of ownership. I bought the car as a basket case and rebuilt front screen, complete front end (inner and outer), sills and floor sections.
Bodily it was virtually repaired but I lost the love and used the garage space for a Maserati Coupe.
I sold it to the guy who scrapped it previous to me buying it. He was delighted to welcome back, a well loved, old friend.
