It's a survival thing. But only up to a point. After that it's just miserable.

It is. And it is. And it is.

So happy that our parents have been jabbed and the cases are dropping. Also a good chance that my mother will be moved to warden controlled premises closer to my sister in about 6 weeks. This could be a very good thing!

Didn't we have a 'Good News' thread somewhere. Rather says a lot about human nature....

What I said was that things are only getting better because the idiots are being controlled via a lockdown. We should have enough common sense to do that ourselves. In fact most of us have, but Unfortunately lock downs are necessary because of those who don’t.

Was asked to visit a food manufacturer last week, and was in a massive boardroom with just 2 others, the third on a massive 60" telly at the head of the table.
On leaving asked the third where he was... In his office next door!!
Was concerned about the new strain and was keeping himself to himself.
'are you worried yet'
he was!

I have done this. We have had occupancy limits since the start and have done video meetings with people in the same building. Seems perfectly reasonable to me!

I don’t think C’s post was aimed at your post. Just a general comment.

That's fine, but they dragged me in, in person, in the snow too with terrible driving conditions, to then sit in a boardroom with the main guy who wanted to see me then on a 60" screen, but actually probably less than 6m away.
I could have done the same sat at home...

That is out of order, I agree!

I assume you offered to put him on the big TV if he asks to do it again?!

When they phoned my mother in law, they only wanted her. Father in law said 'huh' and they took him at the same time. If they live together... don't ask, you don't get

When I was helping out at the vaccination centre last week (yesterday's event got cancelled) I was told I could have a jab at the end of the session if there were any left over. Meanwhile many of the 'younger' accompanying spouses asked if they could have a jab too - at the end of the session there were concerns there would not be enough for every one who was booked in but fortunately there was. I obviously didn't get one but have raised my hand to help at four sessions this week and will continue to offer help whenever I can.
And according to a doctor friend mild side effects similar to the virus can be quite common. And the main reason for waiting 15 mins after the jab is to check for a reaction - for the 1000+ people I have 'helped' this hasn't happened.

You'll be lucky mate, what with the virus and stuff we wont be going anywhere in the next 6 months!

I won't be going abroad until this is completely over but i'm hoping it's done by next year, I just don't like the idea of spending ££ on a holiday if I'm restricted as to what I can do, I've got to wear a mask and there's a risk of a lockdown while I'm there.

Some people were rushing to beat the 4am covid test deadline , their flight was late so they missed a connecting flight , missed it and got refused entry , nightmare , it's just not worth the bother
