Seriously Considering This

Bora dash, plus point, SS Bonnet. US bumpers though :( . TLC could mean a lot of things, they can suffer badly from rust, bonnet, bootlid, and sills are aluminium. Citroen hydraulics may need overhauled, the V6 has duplex timing chains, so no cambelt issues, but are awkward to get at if they have issues. A pretty car, those bumpers apart, not particularly quick as only 220bhp if I remember correctly. Go in with your eyes open.

Both will be money pits and cause all sorts of stress and anguish. But that’s part of the fun of taking on an exotic car project.
Parts and knowledge will be far easier to come by for the Ferrari, and once sorted, it will be more robust and reliable.
I’m pretty confident that most Ferrari/Maserati specialists will tell you that overall, a Mondial is a safer bet than a Merak.

I'd go for the Mazzer, I'm a bit heart over head like that, the quirkier the better for me, besides I'm partial to a big crumple zone ;)
