Once you get the hang of your razor, use Feather blades.Decided I am going to order the Mercur 37C slant edge closer comb razor (or maybe the 39C with longer handle) from Connaught
Rationalising the requirements - thick Iranian beard with sensitive dry skin I think the EJ DE89 is way too mild for me... I do not think it would handle my 1-2 week beard as I have to make 3.5 passes on 2-3 day stubble although some of this could be my method which is improving.
Not a big deal as the DE89 was only £20 and I can fit it into my travel bag (for whenever that gets used again)
Get one one these- Brilliant!Gillette Mac3 for me, shave “almost” every day and never had a problem, the heads are a bit pricey but I tend to stick up if I see an offer on.

Yes, I've always been surprised that Maserati is allowed to make seats out of elephant tusks too.

My favourite interior was Orca, but used to hate the way it stuck to skin in hot weather.Yes, I've always been surprised that Maserati is allowed to make seats out of elephant tusks too.

Thank you. When suits?Back, sack and crack?
Get a decent badger brush.
Well what an interesting diversion!
Already using brush and shaving soap bowl. Massive improvement on shaving foam. Had ancient plastic DE safety razor for emergency use. The emergency was often "no money for ruinously expensive cartridge razors".
Almost pressed to buy button on new shave kit but might as well show to my family for birthday May as well go the whole hog and get the stand too.
Wow, this shaving lark is very, very, very involved.
