Hello friends of Italian craftsmanship
I had my first real breakdown with my diva yesterday.
After some stop and go in the city, I had the feeling the clutch behaves differently.
Then after 80km overland drive, I could not shift into gears anymore. I suspected the clutchs' master or slave cylinder but after some pumping of the pedal it got stuck in the pressed position and after pulling it back it got stuck in the released position. Trying to press while engine was running made a metallic sound.
After a short google search I came to this site: https://driven.boards.net/thread/175/maserati-3200-clutch-release-bearing
Here it shows that a weak point of the clutch was the release bearing or better its "ears" that were truly under dimensioned.
The clutch with bearing was last changed at 60.000kms and now it had 23.000kms done (83tkm in total).
The clutch always behaved excellent, so I would not change it.
But for the release bearing I was planning to strengthen the weakpoints like shown on driven.boards.
The pictures shown are not from my clutch but borrowed from the mentioned page.
I ordered SACHS 3151 600 781 for 102€
I was surprised I could not find this issue here on sportsmaserati.
Any suggestions?
Greetings from Vienna!
