Climate control issue

On my way back today from the Lake District (just under 800 miles round trip including driving around the area and near to Carlisle), and my wife was complaining the passenger side of the car was too cold, I just told her to raise the temperature on that side of the car thinking she was moaning unnecessarily! Turns out I was completely wrong, the passenger side just blows freezing cold max A/C irrespective. From digging on the internet, this exact problem is detailed on the 'Ghibli forum' and is due to a sticking actuator. This problem I doubt will be covered by my Warranty Wise policy, as the part doesn't need replacing just 'un-sticking', so looks like I'm heading I'm guessing for a £700 circa bill from my MD. Anyone else on this site had this problem, and what did it cost?
Thanks in advance for comments...

Have you tried the full battery reset process as this (on the older cars) makes the system run the self learn and it may unstick the actuator.

Yep already tried. It's my usual goto for most electrical gremlins, and normally it's works but not on this occasion.

So following my visit to HR OWEN, it seems I will after all be looking to Warranty Wise to pick up the bill as the actuator does need replacing, with the car booked in for next week. Credit to the Service dept for looking at my car so quickly, and I am hoping all will be resolved by Wednesday.

Maybe doesn’t apply, but my Jaaagg runaround only blew hot when I bought it. Was told to put on full blast and manually select all the vent options for 30 secs each (screen, floor, floor-face etc) and in each one go from high to low to high temp. Amazingly, a few minutes later, cold air came out. Might be worth a try, you never know.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, and I was thinking along those lines of some kind of reset when I first discovered the problem. Regrettably, and at a cost of £120 for diagnosis (including taking down the front undertray to look for a touch up paint brush - another story!), the actuator was found to be not working. This is a known issue with cars of this age, and the software update also carried out yesterday should stop the other two actuators in the HVAC system from packing up.

Was everything ok after this repair? I have a similar issue in that it wont provide hot air on "hi".. well inconsistently anyway
