.....will Max turn into Hamilton?
Is that a prediction?

Totally agree as did the stewards and RB team management. Max is driving far to aggressively especially on corners where he brakes far to late knowingly pushing cars off the circuit. It does make for great TV but I just hope whoever wins in Abu Dhabi that it is a fair winWell a race full of incidents and arguments but they both go into the last race level although if both fail to finish Max wins takes the title.
For my tuppence, Max is just too aggressive he is driving like they did in the 70s & 80s where anything was accepted to be in front but all the other drivers don't drive that way today and the rules don't allow it.
The penalties do seem to be a bit inconsistent but gaining a place whilst outside track limits (however you got there) this should be an immediate cede the place back, all the teams then contest it and by the time the decision is made it is difficulty to decide who should be where. IMO drivers and teams should apply the penalty as defined and then argue later, however you argue it Max on at least2 occasions gained by being of the track and IMO he put himself in that position not the other drivers.

I think the break test was to avoid crossing the DRS line before Hamilton just as he did the second time thereby eliminating the overtake. I agree Max is super talented but not world championship material yetWas glad both drivers finished the race relatively unscathed. I feel the race direction has been poor and a lack of clear guidance has allowed drivers too much room to "interpret" the rules.
The fact is every time Lewis has attempted to overtake Max it has been the same story - Max braking too late and failing to make the corner. Lewis either having to collide with him or back out of it. When the roles are reversed, such as on the second restart, Lewis leaves appropriate room and Max gets by him. You don't see any other driver on the grid trying to save a corner that is clearly lost like Max does. Whether that is testimony to his talent and determination or a sign of a lack of discipline is a matter of personal opinion.
As for the attempt to let Lewis past the whole thing was a mess. Mercedes should have been told before Red Bull so they knew what to expect. Max really should have kept a steadier speed and Lewis should have been able to trust Max enough to move in to the space on the left and overtake him. The brake check really was a step too far and I feel Max deserved greater punishment for this.
Personally I don't feel at this moment that Max would make a good world champion. He is undeniably extremely talented but his driving is not worthy of imitation. If the grid was full of drivers with his attitude no one would finish the race and the stewards enquiries would never end.
I hope Lewis takes the title next week in a clean fight to the end. I think that is highly unlikely though. Much more likely this one could be decided in a stewards office late on Sunday evening.
He knew he was right behind him. The closing speed was surprising to see when only a few meters behind. They were probably doing 100 mph. And as you say, dangerous. Hamilton got a 10 place grid penalty after Silverstone. The penalty Max got was a none penalty, but then we already know Masi isn’t up to it.I don’t think Max brake tested Lewis. I reckon he’d been told by the team in pre race brief where he was to let someone past if instructed to do so and was trying to do that albeit in a typically Max dangerous way. There was no intent to have Lewis run up the back of him.
No he didn’t t brake test him. Just braked hard enough to decelerate 2.4g.I don’t think Max brake tested Lewis. It’s in the data.
This situation would be easily avoided it the rules had some common sense in them.
For example why does the offending car (Verstappen) get the chance to choose where he gives the position back to Hamilton (supposedly the beneficiary)
Surely it makes more sense that he should give the position back in the place he would have previously lost it, in this case at the first chicane.
The free change of tyres under a red flag is also a stupid rule that needs changing. It totally destroyed Lando's race.
Schumacher won a few championships with questionable actions. Dont see anyone saying a lot of bad things about him.
If you can’t see that that was blatantly fixed you are either blind, gullible, stupid.
