There are many people that won't be able to heat their houses once the price cap is re-set , on Radio 4 this morning I heard gas was 50p a therm last year , today £3 a therm

In parliament Boris was trying to defend the governments handling of yet another crisis by pointing out those on low incomes get a £140 a week grant , he said it twice without thinking "that sounds like a lot" , because to him it's not a lot ,only the grant is £140 a year , not a week.

The elderly won't need to worry about CV19 if they can't heat their houses.

Now I'm not in the habit of defending the imbecilic fool who is in charge of our country but the energy crisis is not really down to him.
It's down to NIMBY's and successive Governments not doing anywhere near enough to protect our energy generation.

The bottom line is this. Yes we all want greener energy, so phasing out coal fired power stations is a good idea.
But then people complaining that they don't want solar farms near them or wind turbines or a nuclear power station is just plain stupid.
You either have your environment ruined by coal or a view slightly spoilt.

This country has the space to generate more than enough 'green' energy, but people don't want their view spoilt.
Well you can't have it both ways!

Carry on and you won't have to worry as you'll die from the cold as you won't be able to afford to heat your house.

Just put them all up North. We won't have to see them then ;)

We have windfarms around us and a solar field on the outskirts of the village. Got used to the turbines quite quickly and never really look now. Cannot even see the solar. Therefore, no real affect on views or environment that people can argue about. However, I think larger farms should be offshore (aware they cost more).

It’s absolutely daft isn’t it. Sedgemoor residents we’re up in arms about plans for “horrific wind farms” but are perfectly happy with a nuclear power station a 2 miles away.

The countryside could be saved if we could just harness the wind that's generated in the Palace of Westminster, and judging by the PM's hair there could be a fair amount of it in Downing Street as well.
