Car is a base with a Celtic remap. Haven’t had any rattle noises but I did have a strange moment where the car stopped boosting all together.
When I got the code reader on it there was a fault listing error with intake pressure. Cleared the code and boost came back. Not happened again yet but...
Not sure how effective flushes are but may be worth a go for the cost.
Once I removed the variators I could physically feel them stick. Decided to replace all 4 as they were not overly expensive and an easy DIY job (as long as you don’t get too hand fisted on the Allan key bolts)!!
Having just about got my ghibli the way I like it, it’s just about to reach 90k miles. Car runs better than ever but I think this mileage would put off most people if I were to try and sell it, especially as people tend to be scared of the running costs (rightly or wrongly).
I think I will be...

I ended up throwing parts at mine to fix the rev stumble. Think it was a death of a thousand cuts as each part improved it a little. Started with a handful of sensors then air flow units, new battery, throttle body etc etc. finally got it smooth and stable after replacing the cam variators and...
My brake judder was being caused by material build up. Bought a rehoner drill attachment which cured it for a while but it started to come back. Front discs had plenty of life in them from a thickness perspective. Ended up using it as an excuse to upgrade to bigger discs and callipers.
I couldn’t find anyone reliable. Larini took an order for me but never delivered so cancelled it after waiting 3 months. Have you called rtec? They tried quite hard to source downpipes for me (they tried larini who weren’t interested, again!! And then were looking at armytrix).
I ended up...
I bottled it and sold up my RR shares yesterday. I originally told myself when I bought them in 2020 that I would sell them if they hit the 300 mark, and after I long debate with myself i finally did the more sensible less risky option for a change. Going to try and not look to see how much...
I find the insurance cost on these cars ridiculous and so If I’m getting fleeced for a standard car I may as well get done over for something I enjoy more !!
To be honest, it may all be beyond my own justification as well mate. I have concerns over the emission standards with the new downpipes...
Not sure whether to go for uprated replacement intercoolers or adding a third central 2 into 1 intercooler instead of the standard air intake. I am a bit concerned over how much lag may be introduced especially as turbo dynamics hybrid turbo is fairly basic and is likely to add even more laggy...
I fitted the FD dbw and tbh was fairly unimpressed with it, especially for the effort involved. The Celtic remap was immense however I believe the gearbox remap is for the zf8 box which I’m not sure the 4.2 qpv has unfortunately (happy to be corrected on that).
Welcome to the ghibli fold Big Lou. They are definitely a lot of car for the money.
My car was a base model and after the Celtic tune it made 460bhp which is more than what they generally advertise. The only extra thing I had fitted at the time were k&n filters.
I would also recommend celtics...
Not sure whether the link will work or the quality of the video clip as only a quick iPhone video however let’s see.

I originally tried to get an x pipe from Larini however having waited months I ended up cancelling it and went to a local custom exhaust place who took out the centre muffler but kept the x-pipe configuration. It seemed to make a bit of a difference and that got me starting to think about high...
