Absolutely - it was the first thing I had done on my 156. The stock differentials are a bit of a weak point mechanically as well, so you win in terms of performance and reliability :)

If you actually wish to make it around corners then a Q2 is definitely recommended, which is at least another £750 or so I think.

Just in case anyone was interested in the original GS posted, I got a response to an email: "The car has a full main dealer plus 2 specialists service record. It has recently been serviced roughly 2000 miles ago. The clutch was changed approx.6,000 miles ago. The car is in superb condition."...
