When is she off to Ireland Andy...Or has Your good lady put her foot down ;-) Wish, I had known you would change the plate as Liz wouldn't have bought those nice new ones that were on the car......The ones we had to put back on we're not up to scratch.

Don't look at the VRT and the Motor Tax, it will freak you out! Did a quick calc, €1080 a year for Motor Tax (RFL) and about €1250 VRT one-off (general rip off tax) unless you've had it in UK for 6 months in your ownership.

A good dodge is to get an anonymous NI plate for it, Guards tend to leave those due to frequency of NI cars in the South. I survived a year, my mate two years (threatened with the crusher - the car, not him).

And it might be necessary to remove those EU stars.......

Sorry, could have told you the plan was always to put W7JHK it joins the others W6JHK on the Skoda & W8JHK on the RR.

She goes to Dublin 8th Jan

VRT & Irish Road tax only required if you're a resident in Ireland which I am not officially only there 2 or 3 nights per week until the summer by which time we will bring the BMW back and sell it. Car is UK registered, UK insured and taxed and I am a UK resident. I might have to bring it back occasionally but that has always been the plan.

However when we move there the RR will over €1800 Motor Tax, no VRT as we have had it over 6 months but it would have been €8300.

Hi Geoff - can I please have more details on the BMW? Price/ mileage/ service history etc. Would it be capable of doing 450 miles on a single tank (70mph 90% motorway miles)

Thanks!

I’m looking for £2800 for it, it’s almost done 105k and has a stack of service history, I bought it in August as a stop gap.
It changed the power steering pump and water pump.
It’s totally standard which is rare for one of these, with the exception of the Bluetooth stereo, but I’ll sell it with the original.

I did 400 miles in it recently and it had just under a quarter of a tank left so I think it would do 450.
As it’s an auto it’s perfect for motorway miles which is why I bought it.

It’s managed to crack its windscreen (on passenger side) last week so I can get that replaced or adjust the price accordingly.

Thanks for the info! Have you got it advertised anywhere? Otherwise do you mind sending me interior/ exterior pics on my pm? Many thanks

Thinking of mile munchers, but with at least a smidge of style, I was just researching trade values of diesel Ghibli’s. You’re looking at £15k or so for a 65k mile 2014 version with full history now. That’s a lot of modern Maserati for not much cash, and for many, a cheap way to stay with the brand whilst still being sensible.

Funny you should say that as they appeared on my radar recently as well. I am guessing they are not Euro 6 ?

Agree Ewan, if you could get a decent one at that price I would have one for the communit. The only thing that would maybe put a fly in the ointment would be running/servicing costs. As a daily drive mile muncher it couldn't have Maserati service cost.
