Rear Door wont shut. QPV!

Hi guys
Loaded up the car to drive home tonight, went to shut the drivers side rear door and it just bounced back.
The latch on the door wont engage, Ive tried a combination of button presses whilst door is shut, but I think possibly the actual mechanism is faulty if anybody has come across that before?
I dont think the door relies on electrics to shut or open (except for the 2nd door popper button)
Thanks

I dont think its electrical. Pushing the lock and unlock you can hear the actuator do things.
Im reluctant to disconnect battery, the last time I done it (albeit after it went flat) I had to get the TPMS reset at an independant!

If you look at the lock catch you will see a latch. With a screwdriver, flip it the other way and try and shut the door again. The lock mech might still be stuffed but the door should shut.

Basically the latch is in the shut position hence why it’s bouncing.

Unfortunately not, the lock is stuck in the open position and wont mechanically latch on. I may strip it and see, but likely will need a new mech.

I know it sounds silly, but I have fixed an extraordinary number of problems on my QPV by just spraying the area with huge amounts of WD40, waiting 2 hours, walking round the car anti-clockwise twice, and presto! it works for a bit.

Lol! If only.

Found its the motor for the door popper. The brushes burnt out and seized which is what held the door from shutting. For short term you can just remove this side, but ill find another new unit..

I found that walking CLOCKWISE three times then once back anticlockwise then a brief prayer to St Jude followed by a squint of WD40 works better, but hey I'm no expert...

Just for the record. Doors is anti-clockwise but windows not closing more than an inch is clockwise?
