Morning all, I never made it out of the house yesterday except for dinner with Jeanette. So today I will intend to stay in and maybe I’ll get out!

Have fun all...

Morning, all. Erm. Today. Right. Friday. Some work, dip my toe in the world of the Wolf of Wall Street and - God help us - I have been blessed with two rooms to decorate. Mercifully none are large but both come with enough remedial work to keep me busy for a couple of days. I reckon I can kick that can into the weekend when the weather's looking generally less good.

Phil, my eldest is in Martinique which is so much part of France that when France gets told to jump, Martinique does too. He's also on lockdown, same rules, A mile from his house, stay off the beach etc etc. We did warn him that his escape from COVID and a damp renter in Bristol to a little corner of Caribbean paradise wouldn't be without its risks. I'd still take his views and weather over being locked down in a city flat, though.

Have a good one, all.

Morning all. WFH today a we have a loss adjuster coming round to assess our water leak.

Plenty of calls to do in the meantime, and to register for our local doctors.

Rock 'n roll!

Morning all, happy Birthday Capes, loads of little jobs to do about the place today.

Sounds like National lockdown 2 is inevitable.

Have fun all...

Phil, £40k down is odd - things are booming out this way. Maybe it's a regional thing. Anyway, well done. Get it sold. One thing less to deal with.
I’d agree, houses round here are selling within a week. Very bizarre..
Good morning.
Caravan to box up today, and that’s the end of another era.
Have a good weekend.

Morning all. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Been up since about 5 as we have a poorly little boy, with a a very snotty cold.

Plans for the day are therefore out of the window. However, with the impending lockdown, we weren't going to do much anyway!

I have a dilemma; having had the back room replastered and professionally decorated, we are looking for furniture to go in there. It is going to be the main living room freeing the front room up for other things. The last two Friday evenings have been spent trawling around various stores locally and at Lakeside looking for stuff. It comes down to these options, all are leather (there will be scattered eclectic single seats in the room also).

1/ DFS budget suite 3 seater, two seater, single and poofe on spindle legs and no recliners. £1,700 all in and reality probably replace in 3-years or when we move.

2/ Oak furniture a really comfy quality build and thick leather 3 seater and a single with 3 reclining options. Should last 5-10 years and £4,600.

3/ Natuzzi Designer Italian uber specification, very elegant with multi-functional recliners x 2 including lumber! Just a single unit (2 standard and 2 wide sections) as a 4 seater (6 in reality) and would require more individual chairs in the room. £6,300! A thing of beauty, state of the art and a true indulgence.

What do people think?

My DFS sofa looked like new even after 10 years, OK it had creases like all leather does, but with a dog, three house moves and plenty of girl action over the years I was quite impressed.

Still got £300 for it when I changed to a brown John Lewis one.

A very expensive one that lasts 20, 30 years will still look like a 20,30 year old design as time and fashion move on.
