I loved the V8 series, most of all the 355 which was an elegant yet sportive design. The 458 was pretty high point too. The F8 visually does nothing to me, particularly the front. It may be functional but to my eyes it is very busy and *** hot hatch agressive.

Doesn’t look like much fun as a road car, very frustrating as he says. Like all the bigger and bigger numbers super cars now, none of them do anything for me. Very impressive engineering, but largely wasted in reality.
Like being with an amazing supermodel but all you are allowed to do is undo her shoelaces.

Looked incredibly twitchy.
Saw one in our local Fezza showroom around a month and a half ago- its just arrived in Oz. Young sales bloke from St Albans offered me a drive in one after we struck up a conversation on my years in Harpenden.
Maybe I’ll take him up on it once i’m Able to drive again. Never sat in a Ferrari let alone driven one.

These are problems when the marketing department wins over the engineers, chasing a consumer bias. I liked Porsche prototypes this week like the 904 rethink

Most Ferraris have got too fast for use these days which is taking the fun out of driving them.

It is too fast, I nearly passed out in launch mode when I went to the test drive at Millbrook

I'd not watched one of Harry's videos since he drove a Levante round a field a few years back but this was really interesting and explains why the Ferrari SUV is due. A lot of the year the F8 would be so hard to drive in the UK you do wonder what the point would be in owning it? Anyway, 488 residuals are now so soft that that is where I would be shopping if I wanted a mid engined super car.

Watching it, the impression I got was that yes it's brilliantly engineered. But other than that, it's kinda pointless.

Driving or passenger?
Fortunately, I was being driven by the professional driver before I was meant to have a go at launch. A combination of low blood pressure and screaming (!) meant I started to faint! I had more success when I drove it round the Alpine track and the bowl. Hopefully I didn’t look like a complete twit, I have driven quite a few sports cars over the years.
The F8 spider, rather than me, was skittish when I drove it in wet conditions a month earlier in August. Scary power compared with my relatively mild-mannered 458!

I don’t really know what all the fuss is about. It’ll be fine popping and spitting around Knightsbridge next summer. In fact, the next Manettino will have a K setting. As in nob.

you found the F8 skitish compaired to a 458? I have not tried a F8, but the 488 is a lot tamer than the 458 in my opinion. The 458 is one of the scariest cars I have ever driven, which is why I'd love one. Interesting to hear your opinion.

azapa, these are the stats, the F8 is way more powerful than the 458. I really noticed the torque cornering at low speeds. A bit too twitchy bottomed for my liking!
