Fellas we’re enjoying our new Velar First Edition so much that it’s probably a keeper. My Mrs is as smitten as me.

Now, I’m already sold on “Ceramic” coatings as our old Merc was done from factory so I’ve seen the benefits, hence my inquiry today to our local accredited Gtechniq guy.

10H ceramic
1 day to apply (comes to us), full wash, clay bar- paint prep etc (interior protection also applied to seats etc- another positive given they’re ivory) all for $1500.......around £830. Around 5hours to complete- 9 year warranty.

They also do a 9h Ceramic for 2/3rds the cost with a 5 year warranty.

Seems pretty good value to me, anyone any other suggestions or should I just pull the trigger and if so on the 10h or 9h?

I’m tempted for the 10 and am pretty confident it’ll get the best out of the “Silicone Silver” paintwork - which is already pretty spectacular.

That's a bargain Wattie! I paid £1k to have my old QP detailed then 2 coats of Ceramic Pro 9h applied, 3 years ago. Included the wheels and brake calipers to. So I reckon your prices are pretty good.

Yep - good value. But your paint will have be in top notch condition already, as with only one day to do all that work there is not much time allocated for paint correction. I paid more than that when having my car done.

9h. After 5 years it will have fallen apart or you will be sick of all the repairs. :saifi:

With cleaning, clay bar, 2 stage polish and all that treatment. At least 3days surely.

I’m itching to get the crystal serum. Been using the C2V3 for years now which is the weak as **** version and it’s brilliant so can only imagine how good the Crystal is.

I may actually pull the trigger on it next spring

What you guys think about the longevity even after a year or two. Can you tell it’s on there?

I had a car done years ago by Gtechnic, the coating lasted for as long as I had the car, something like 4 years. Washing was easy and it looked great.

My only experience was my Merc and that was swirl free......6 years old, 2nd owner. Beaded when wet.
The caveat is that I only wash my car every couple of months as it rarely sees rain. Some have mentioned that the coating may be impaired by regular washes on other threads.....

I have it done to all my cars - in part because I am lazy when it comes to cleaning the daily drivers.

A quick bucket clean followed by a rinse with a hose and a dry has it coming up very nicely in next to no time. And with a bit more effort, the results are stunning.

All good thanks bud thanks for asking. Can’t complain in general. Although trying to keep the cabin fever at bay working at home since April lol.
I get the occasional trip offshore which I jump at as it blows the cobwebs away lol.

Hope all good with you and family, although I think I remember seeing you having a few issues yourself recently. Hope things are working through ok

This is good to hear. The C2V3 lasts a couple months, but these years claims for the Crystal serum are bold and I’ve never actually got feedback on it. But 100% once winter is out the way I’m jumping in!

That’s good to hear. Take it a easy.
I’m on the mend too. Bypass, valve replaced and a pacemaker inserted 10 days ago.
Feeling pretty good but get tired easily. Need to build up my stamina- early days.
Best.

Kamikaze maybe worth a look at, some big detailers are using it more

Gtechniq is a good product, CSL / Exo is the best combination.

if you want to save some money, maybe look at Kamikaze or Gtechniq applied by a non-accredited detailer, you could save about £300+ They just can’t apply the ultra version of the base coat.

look forward to seeing some pics...
