But alas we now live in a world where rappers in the US no longer make much money instead of songs about making money they rap about getting smashed on opioid based pain killers - shows the state of the economy over there right? UK grime artists on the other hand are rolling in it comparatively
Rapping about money is also a bit out of vogue because of the prevalence of Marxist and socialist ideologies among the newer generation over there.

One of them high end dealers in Colchester told my brother that Victoria Beckham bought a Range Rover from them and wanted the seats customised with the first letter of her name carved in the headrest and the first letter of her husband's name in the passenger headrest.
That’s just a posh way of having your names on a sun strip.

"Public Relations" liked Rockits post about advertising being funny.
I chuckled.

Beckham seems an odd choice, I don't recall hearing about him doing anything other than plugging his own wares (perfumes) in the last... maybe 10 years?
Footballers aren't exactly the top people I think of when it comes to buying a car with taste or class, retired footballers perhaps even more so.

Still, not as odd as Kimi Raikonnen advertising Alfa. Odd lines, awkward shots and appeals to a small subset of those who know F1 and get him, whilst appearing like an boring old oddball choice to everyone outside of that circle!

I'm another who would never be convinced to buy something based on someone advertising it to me.

If its anything like the awful "Haig Club" Whiskey that they got Beckham to market. People just bought it for the name, which shouldn't be what Maserati are aiming for IMO.

If Puff Daddy was in it I would be more interested. For a start the guy is a legend music wise and as for his on-screen appearances he is happy to take the **** out of himself.

He’s probably the wrong generation too, not sure how old Sean is but DMX who died last week was 50. They were on the ball using Mr JWW to launch the MC20, they should’ve got the same team to do this. Mercedes big success in the last decade has been to get 20 year olds to buy their cars. This is what Maserati and Alfa need to be aiming for.

So do you aspire to do donuts under a motorway overpass???... then buy our £100k SUV.

Really, is this the point of a Maserati these days?

If 20 year old can afford a Maserati then you must be from Saudi!

20 and 30 somethings drive Range Rovers. You need to sell it to the 20 year old so he aspires to buy it.

It has to be otherwise they won’t exist.

50 and 60 year old men and women going for a Sunday drive to the Cock of the North in a 20 year old 4200 is not going to keep them in business.

How many people in here have actually bought a new Maserati in the last decade? 2 maybe.

Actually, I wonder if there is a location bias too. I think we are mainly UK based on here (well, based or originating from).
I'm almost certain that advert is illegal in the UK as showing spirited driving in a car is not allowed in UK car ads, which is why we end up with all these obscure arty lifestyle car adverts.
So, in the context of other US focused adverts, perhaps it's seen as less ASBO hooning style, and more sporty fun style. I remember seeing some sporty car ads during NFL last year (Acura, Chevy Corvette, one of the Korean brands) all of which had cars being driven fast, it stood out as something I hadn't seen for many years.

On a similar, but unrelated note, US ads can also draw direct comparison to competitors, something else that doesn't happen in the UK, which I assume is down to a law too.
"Here at Verizon, we are 2x cheaper than AT&T for our basic family package" or whatever.
If it was allowed, surely every other ad would be Ryanair pointing out you'd be an idiot to fly BA who cost 10x as much and arrive late more often.

The drone work in the Beckham ad is nice too, though having now watched it again, I come out with 3 thoughts - why would I want an SUV if I was going to do donuts, why did they bother fitting a thing that reads out your schedule when you can't hear it, and who would spec that thing in red.

Better to be the dealer selling the car and putting their brand on it.... Than the dealer taking their PX and removing their traces from it. There are some things you can't get off seats... And lettering aint it..

There is a massive void between a Velar or Evoque on a PCP with skinny wheels and in black or white which come in at £300/400pcm that a Levante that is double that and more.... and really, do even younger drives just want to do burn ups?...they are to worried it may cause a penguin a cough.

I get they need to keep newer drivers/owners coming, but this add falls flat

It’s a shame really.
I bought my Velar First Edition (second hand) without any desire to buy a Levante.
Firstly I think it’s an ugly car and secondly i dont think any modern Maser comes near the V8 experience I celebrated for 7 months that still haunts me.
The Velar hasn’t made Me think twice.

Mr Beckham was seen at McLaren picking up his 720 in June 2019, maybe he's flogged that for something more reliable...

The company that produced that Ad don't seem to know much about people, anyone have more examples of their brilliance!
