France is very high on our list of Mexico alternates if at all possible.

C

We loved Normandy , dead easy to get to from Portsmouth , boat lands at Cherbourg and most of your driving is within 50 miles so only £40 a day in petrol :D

Lynne had it sussed on the fastcat going out

This is how it should be , all the men drinking coffee and all the women with a glass of wine.

We often go from Pompey to Caen/Cherbourg for the Le Mans trips (remember them?) ....not sure about drinking coffee though...

Buses. Bloody great double decker things driving down country lanes.

Just because they're bigger than you they think it is ok to take up most of the road, including your side!
Nearly ended up in a ditch because of one of those gits this morning!
Tell me about it! I live in a very rural location, about 2 years ago they decided to use double decker's as school transport, first they had to spend weeks going along the route in a converted one to chop down overhanging branches, Now you get these monstrosities going down lanes hardly big enough for a car, not to mention the poor kids who on one route are first on at 7.30 am and last off at 4.45pm.

I never understand why the council has an obligation to provide school buses. You live in a rural area - as I do - then it's your problem to get your kids to school.

Fair point but few people think your way in this modern age, we've had kids now its the systems job to get them to school. We have school buses here but routes a few and fixed so most rural parents have to take them to the pick up point but there is a community spirit and pre lockdown parents on the same route would share the pick ups and collection

Similar experience but surely the buses should be chargeable as when people move to the country they know that schools are in towns?

You could make exactly the same argument for State schools. You had the kids you pay for the teaching. School busses are means/disability tested

Not everyone is a rich as us on here. The agricultural labourers are in many areas being forced out by the down from London types. Many have great difficulties making ends meet and transporting your kids to school after you start work would be the deathknell for many in the farming industry.

I live in rural Scotland and most farms now only employ a very small number of workers. Most of the kids going on the buses have double income parents who are driving off to urban jobs after they put the kids on buses so access to transport is not an issue. Where we are the state buses are free for all kids and are not means tested.

I get the point about where you draw the line about what is included and I guess we all have a different perspective on what the state should pay for.

Didn’t realise it was completely free in Scotland. Very different down here it’s means tested or based on a disability. The farming here is also much more labour intensive. No battery haggis farms down here.

It is actually a tad more complex than that and varies across the country but given most rural kids live a certain distance away from catchment schools it is effectively free.

BTW some of the fields round here are too flat for the haggis.

Why is it, when you are stuck in a traffic jam, the car in front never keeps up with traffic when everyone else moves, and leaves gaps of 30-40 yards, which would enable you to get to your destination at least 3 seconds quicker?

Here’s a prediction.
We’re all gonna get fecked off with no liberty, no emotive cars, no freedom of speech, no meat, ugly Greta, no individuality, unidentifiable sexes, and feckwit politicians deciding what’s best for us.

I’m already waaaaay past the finish line.

I think others are catching me up.

This ‘expert’ denies people this.

No covid within miles.....everyone negative, no extra mourners at the funeral.

Later during the lockdown this fecker flies out of Melbourne. And does this!

Wake tf up.
