Just speaking to a colleague, he is struggling to fill up at BP stations as all he is passing are out of fuel.
We all have BP fuel cards for work so no other choices.

Just nipped to my local Tesco's to get some lunch. And I had to get in a quarter mile long queue just to get into the place.
And yes, you guessed it, everyone is panic buying fuel!

What is the matter with people these days??????

It’s because, when someone in the government says “don’t panic buy” the only bit the public hears is “panic buy”.

We have become a country mistrustful of our leaders.

The very fact these people are filling up mid morning on a Friday indicates to me that they are working from home and porbablydon’t need fuel urgently.

I have zero fuel in the Strad (warning light on) but plenty in the Jag - no way am I joining a queue.

One of my daughters who is a teacher will need fuel before Monday, as will my daughter who is a nurse, hopefully they won’t have difficulty getting it.

Indeed

who is a nurse, hopefully they won’t have difficulty getting it.

Probably not because panic buying fuel only really works if you're panic driving. Otherwise it just sits in the tank while you wait for your normal miles to take place......

Not like you can put it in the cupboard (1)

(1) Yes I did see some of the pictures from the US

Almost.
It’s really just Brexit that has forced the European drivers to avoid work in the UK that has lead to the shortage of drivers in the first place.
Covid is everywhere, and everywhere doesn’t have a shortage of fuel, HGV drivers, co2, chicken, pork…

Luckily our Government had the foresight to implement fantastic public transport infrastructure that we can rely on, and to not neglect it, run it into the ground, or leave it operating at excessive loads…

They never have them anyway. A shame as it’s almost the only good thing McDs do.
I’ve heard that they never have milkshakes because the machine is an utter pain to clean and the staff never want to do it…
Sounds a bit like fruit and vegetable picking too.
