... One last option I thinking about is the Sofitel (we have an EARLY flight), which claims to offer over-nighters £20 per day on-site parting while you are away (£160 is looking like a good deal)....

Ah, no, the Sofitel £20 deal is only for the nights you are staying, not the whole trip.

The Holiday Inn do the stay and park for selected numbers of nights. It has cctv and is only a couple of mins from T2. I think they do a shuttle too.

My business partner and I had booked LHR pod parking for 6 days next month (now they're running again). Realised this morning that another option should be investigated... now it's £20 more total cost to arrange taxis both ways from my home to the terminal than for mileage + parking... no brainer!
So, LHR now only make the fiver out of us in 'additional' profit to make up for covid losses. Had they kept the prices where they were, that money from us would have been much much more.
Good economics methinks?

I'm not one to use Airport car parks much but whenever I do, I'd use the official channels via the airport website. They are fully accountable and professional. The amount you save on using a cowboy organisation is small versus the risk of deliveroo.

As a point on drop off, yes they are to recover funds and lip service to the community travel plan. If you'd only done 10% of business for the last 2 years, you'd look elsewhere for funds.

i have a car park opposite work that is used by a private firm for Luton airport parking ,regularly see Lambos and other exotics and always see the employees taking them out for a spin and loud revving and videoing......imagine what they do when they are not around their car park

Having used the Justpark service I can report back that it was excellent and I can highly recommend. We arrived at the guys house parked the car shoved the luggage in the back of a nice clean Mercedes’ estate and in 10 minutes we were dropped right outside T3. On arriving back we collected our bags gave him a call and as we got outside the terminal building he drew up and back to his place 10 minutes later cases in to our car and off. The transfers to and from the terminal are £15 each way. A lovely guy, prompt service and £85 for 13 days parking. I have his number to book direct if anybody needs it.

Didn't want to start a new thread but need to get to London Gatwick Airport on New Year's Day for a 15 day trip. The official London Gatwick Airport site looks good value compared to booking a taxi. In these times we are in and on New Year's day, I'd trust my maser as the most reliable option.

Question: anyone have any recent experience of Gatwick long stay?

Yep. October. Dropped the car off at the hotel. Had a bit of a wait on return but it came back in what looked liked the same condition it went in in. He was extremely cautious bringing it into the car park (those spiral ramps are a tad narrow) and parked across 3 bays :)
