Loz's old 4200 back up for sale (I think)

These ads that bash the 4200s unreliability as an attempt at being funny has been vastly overdone. Too many people get suckered in thinking they are like a CLK 55 or M3 in terms of maintenance. Then they find out how wrong they are because of the low production numbers of these versus the...

    Mc20 Driven

Because it does without the petrol particulate filter that robs most of the sound, its legally required in Europe and UK but not USA.

    Mc20 Driven

I hope this car will finally put an end to those journos who routinely **** on Maseratis for using Chrysler infotainment and being all show and no go. As much as I hate the base model Ghiblis and Levantes for lowering the brands prestige I still think the higher spec ones look pretty nice.

Cars that should do well over the next 10years

On the DB7 I’ve liked the look of the late model Vantage and GT compare dto the DB9 because its much sleeker in its profile.

    Ferrari Roma - Test Drive

So are the Alfa 8C and California, but those are using much shorter floorpans closer to the 4200s 104 inch wheelbase. The GTs wheelbase is around 115 inches. If you think of it in terms of Aston Martins, what Maserati has done is essentially replace a V8 Vantage with a DB9 sizer car.

    Ferrari Roma - Test Drive

If you look at: 4200 -> California -> Roma Over 4200 -> GranTurismo there’s a much more natural progression in terms of size and performance in the former as opposed to the latter, where the original GT was in some cases slower than the GS and being a much larger car. Its rumored that the...

Cars that should do well over the next 10years

That generation GTV was climbing up in price and a clean 3.2 are more expensive than one might think.

    Japanese Import 166

I can vouch for the manual GTAs being LHD. A lot of those have ended up in the UAE. Initially I thought the Japanese liked having the steering wheel based on the cars country of origin but then I saw many japanese spec Jaguars, Bentleys and RRs in LHD.

    4200 driver's side door lock that doesn't

Anyone know if a failing door lock affects the wjndow dip mechanism? I’ve got a failed drivers door that shows the exact symptoms, have not gone around to fitting the new lock yet.

    Its been almost 18 years.....

Lovely car, even moreso if its manual and a true Assetto Corsa.

Our American cousins trash another Maserati

A bit too soon from the second and imo luxobarges doesnt stray that far from the GT cars of the last one.

4200 spyder rear light conversion ?

Dear god the front grill... looks like it had a dislocated jaw.

4200 spyder rear light conversion ?

Not really a fan of the 3200 bonnet, its nice on the turbo car but I like the bulge of the 4200 bonnet. The rear lights however... such a shame they got rid of these lights.

4200 spyder rear light conversion ?

I don’t think you quite got what I meant. the 3200 conversion would need the fabrication and bootlid, with this you can avoid it if you add a cover piece in place of the original rear lights. The gen 1 XK does a similar trick with one tuning company doing an insert for a round light conversion.

4200 spyder rear light conversion ?

It seems easier to do than the 3200 conversion at least, with that you need a new bootlid and a lot of fabrication. This one seems to have an insert on the original rear light area, along with taillights from what I assume is the Alfa Romeo MiTo (which are also used in the 4C). If you do it...

    Ferrari Roma - Test Drive

You put it next to an Alfieri and its a dead giveaway, even when compared to the 4200 you can see the Maserati DNA all over this car.

Now I see where the car world is going (and Porsche was right)

While you are right, SUVs are now the new norm. The 911, along with the Corvette and Mustang, are icons that have been around for over 50 years. It will be around for as long as they possibly can, which means it will inevitably be hybridized by 2030 but won’t completely go away.

    Worst taste GS interior ???

True, but I'd have a Vantage V600 in any colour if it meant that I could have one... Its like if Aston Martin built a Challenger Hellcat except 20 years ago.

    Worst taste GS interior ???

The second one looks brilliant imo. I also like the first one rear bumper not withstanding.

    Ok who ordered this

The colour is fine, all it needs are a new set of wheels and it will look like a decent albeit marmite car. its vaguely similar to the Rame Ghibli in the GranSport, one of my favorites on that car.
