    The Influenzo

I persevered with a dozen episodes of Ratarossa’s 308 project. Actually warmed to the guy, good on him. Maybe it brings back memories of scraped knuckles and frozen fingers fixing cars on my drive - more like a Mini than a Ferrari though. [emoji1787] He’s got some knowledge and determination.

[emoji849] You’ve just given away the punchline to the second episode [emoji1787] (He asked his followers to come up with a name for a Ferrari bought in the pandemic.)

Bit of a damp squib new video today. I’m just hanging on until he takes it to Ian Tyrell. He’ll listen through his length of tube, tweak the timing or change a camshaft and it will be running up to 8000 revs in no time.

    4200 Radio & Satnav upgrade

FWIW this is the the buck converter I have been using for the last couple of months exactly as Sablewolf describes. It’s set to convert 12V to 7V. I wired it to come on with the lights so the same as if the NIT was still there. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193475888790

    Brexit Deal

The fishmonger in our market has had some fabulous langoustine recently. I guess maybe this is why? He had live lobster as well. I love lobster but never cooked it myself. Not sure of the best way but maybe it’s time I found out.

    Brexit Deal

I think Amazon just know how to import things from inside and outside the EU. There aren’t any UK tariffs or duties on clothing produced in the EU. Campagnolo manage to sell direct and via resellers to loads of countries outside the EU (eg Australia). I expect they haven’t set up their direct...

    Brexit Deal

I noticed Campagnolo have made such an announcement on their web site. But all of their stuff still seems to be available through Amazon. Presumably it’s just direct sales because they haven’t worked out their systems yet.

    The good morning thread

I feel for you. Sounds like your HR department have taken a thoughtless approach to the principle of pooling the at risk people. Fair enough that they should get a chance to apply for other jobs in the company. But if you got a promotion, they could apply for your now-vacant job. So they are...

That’s an ISO aerial connector. Most new stereos use DIN connectors. Adaptors are easily available and cheap.

Thanks a lot for that, you’ve saved me a lot of time trying to figure it out. [emoji106]

    The watch thread.

It looks and sounds great, I’m glad it worked out. The pushers and crown do wear over time and would normally be replaced in a major service like this. Helps keep the water and dust out. Also it looks like they didn’t polish the case too aggressively, which is a good thing. Hope you enjoy it...

    4200 Radio & Satnav upgrade

I did mount the main Pioneer unit on the NIT frame. I couldn’t be bothered to drill new mounting holes so used some double sided velcro tape just to keep it located. The frame and the rubber end stop take the weight. Shame if you haven’t got one but I guess any basic frame will do. Thanks for...

    4200 Radio & Satnav upgrade

Just refreshed my memory about 10 and 11 on the ‘Power Cord’, 5* and 6* as they mark them in the instructions. I decided I didn’t have an auto aerial so didn’t connect them together. I think it’s if you have one of those aerials that extend when you turn the stereo on. Seems to work anyway, not...

    4200 Radio & Satnav upgrade

Hi, hope I can help after all the help you gave me :). I did connect the lead to the handbrake in the end, it is pretty much essential if you want to use all the setup features of the Pioneer. I wasn’t sure which of the two wires to connect to, as I couldn’t work out which was the +ve side. In...

Welcome, the picture looks great. Any more?

    Radio / NIT bezel

Fair enough, makes sense. Your bezel looks quite cool with the USB slot and the integrated hazard switch. I’m looking forward to seeing it done.

    Radio / NIT bezel

They unscrew quite easily from the original bezel/screen. I unscrewed 2 and screwed them into my new bezel. The screen is from the Pioneer unit so shallow. I found I only needed 2 to secure the new bezel firmly.

    Radio / NIT bezel

Looks like a very good bezel. I’m happy with mine but for a Spyder the hazard switch location options are a bit more limited, so that is a neat solution. As FIFTY said I fitted a Pioneer EVO62DAB. Once you get your head round completely removing the NIT, everything gets easier IMHO. Sablewolf...

    The watch thread.

You have a my sympathies for a **** experience. It’s probably no help to know that a decent watchmaker could refit those hands very easily - they are used to making these kinds of adjustments to tighten up fittings on vintage watches where spare hands aren’t so easy to come by. I hope you...

    I purchased a Maserati Coupe 2005 for 5 300 pounds....

Hi, I'm in awe of what you have done here, definitely inspired me to get a bit more pro-active in maintaining my Spyder. I hope you managed to find this thread about NIT replacement: https://www.sportsmaserati.com/index.php?threads/4200-radio-satnav-upgrade.31574/ . I've now completely replaced...
