Well that car was disappointingly and predictably a disappointment. Paint all looked very nice but that was about it, interior not awful but various rips, nicks and leather completely missing from the light switch panel & no invoices for any of the work you'd imagine would now be due.

Thanks everyone. Got a couple of PPI options now. What do you reckon on the price? Have GT prices increased as much as everything else. Is this massively over the odds? Another option was a late model Jag XKR and they are fetching £40k+ which is nuts.

Is this the Prestige mentioned on here for a PPI? https://www.prestigeautoworks.co.uk/pre-purchase-inspections

Yeah, saw that one. It's the colourway of the Milton Keynes car though, definitely not to everyone's taste but I really love it.

Evening folks. I was on the forum briefly at the end of last year with a purchase of 2009 GTS which, on inspection by SportsItalia, turned out to be not quite as good as it was made out to be. I didn't do a PPI, didn't really know what I was doing TBH. I didn't comment at the time but happily...

New member - recent Granturismo S purchase

Lovely looking car. What's the NC500? Just did the seat reset this morning. This worked for me. When I'd tried before I hadn't had the key in at the start at it didn't work.

Seems ok this morning? Maybe it's early stage rattle or something completely different

    insurance renewal - WTF

I realise there are a billion factors but I could not believe how cheap the insurance was on my 2009 GTS vs other cars I'd been looking at. It was only £200. I dunno, maybe I'm old.

Yep, had done. It's going to be an exciting couple of days. Good news is that the garage I bought it from is happy for SI to look it all over first and for me to report back.

Mine sounds VERY much like this. From 1st cold start, got a rattle. Switched off and fired up immediately to video it, no rattle.. It's not good news is it? FFS . Engine number is one that's impacted, 25k miles.

Hmmm. Are they supposed to go on fire?

Thanks Matt. Looking forward to getting the car over to you.

Hmmm. Are they supposed to go on fire?

Thank you everyone for your help. Really appreciate it. Will monitor it for a the next few days as the dealer is a couple of hours away from me. It's also booked into SI week after next for a health check so will obviously mention it.

Could it still make sense if the oil change was about 200 miles ago and I only just noticed? Are there places for oil to pool before dripping onto the catalyst?

Hmmm. Are they supposed to go on fire?

Had a good look today. Top looks very clean, assume the cam covers are the red parts? It did just have an oil change so wondering if it could have been a spill. Took it for a drive and seems fine now. If there's a leak this should happen again?

Yup. Don't mind admitting. This is my first exotic and I'm learning fast.. And, to be fair, loving the experience. :)

Hmmm. Are they supposed to go on fire?

I agree. Rubber was the first thing that came to mind, smell was pretty acrid but I think burning oil fits the bill better.
