    The Granturismo Is No More

Here in the UAE there is no shortage of Maseratis around. Car economics are competely different here of course, but GTs and QPs still sell strongly. And not to locals (they all drive G Wagons and Land Cruisers) but to the expat market. Ghibli's are everywhere and I'm sure the Levante will be...

    Frankenstein's monster?

I might have to take a look at this car. Could be a bargain, especially if he still has the original grille somewhere.

    Frankenstein's monster?

To be honest I wasn't sure which forum to post this on......this is either genius or insanity...

    Skyhook

Apologies if this has been dealt with previously but I'm looking at buying a 2009 MC Shift and the owner does not know if it has Skyhook or not. Skyhook was an option which my old 08 4.2 had (listed on the original purchase documents) but I was never sure how you could tell from a visual...

    Newbie wants/needs to pick brains

I've had my 4.2 for 18 months and it hasn't missed a beat mechanically. I got an extended warranty when I bought from a Main Stealer just for peace of mind. Not needed it and not sure I would renew when it's my own cash but not decided on that yet. Haven't regretted buying it at all. It's a...

Different wheels on a 4.2 GT

Quite like the de-chrome look but the wheels are just a bit too lary for my (admittedly dull and middle aged) tastes. Good to see the prices are holding up. Not that I think they'll get £40k for that when the 4.7's are just a notch or two above.

    Bike Rack/Towbar

Every bike carrier I have ever used on any car has managed to find a way to leave some sort of damage. They're a menace. Tow-bar with a separate carrier trolley would be the safest way to go. Not cheap, but probably cheaper than a trip to the body shop!

    GT Richard Grace

I come in peace! Reminds me of the debate that raged for about 96 years on the Alfa forum about 'snot' green Alfa GTA's. They really divided opinion and looked iffy in pictures but quite nice in the flesh. Each to his own I say. GT's look great and go great, the colour of the seat you're...

    GT Richard Grace

I had a chat with him when I was looking for mine and he was very helpful. Nice looking GT. Mind you, there's no such thing as a bad looking GT. That's the one thing that sets them apart from other cars. Red interior might not be everyone's cup of tea, although I've never seen one close up...

    Insurance time

Incumbent Direct Line refused to price match Sainsburys Bank. Which is actually a Direct Line white label operation. Sigh.

    Sales.........

I dont get this Ghibli thing at all. Why buy a Maserati that looks like a Jag XF?

Granturismo S depreciation and dealer profit margin.

That's exactly what will happen! As someone said above, dealers are in business to make a profit! Any luxury good has much bigger margins than commodity products. You pays your money you takes your choice......I chose a dealer because of availability and because it was my first Maserati...

Wheel Alignment Recommendation in the North West

Autoshield sorted me out. It was waaaaay out on two of the four wheels. That, and new tyres all round has made a noticeable difference to the handling. Now it feels like the car it's supposed to be!

Wheel Alignment Recommendation in the North West

Thanks all. I'll give Autoshield a call. Assuming tyres start at 8mm and should be replaced a 2mm, then changing at 6-6-2 means that you only get a third of the potential value from the tyres....and that's considered 'normal' for a Maserati...:frusty5: Still, no-one ever said it would be a...

Wheel Alignment Recommendation in the North West

I just scraped through an MOT with an advisory based on some fairly alarming uneven front tyre wear (6-6-2!) and I think a four wheel alignment is probably a good idea. Anyone know of a specialist in the North West with (a) bang up to date laser equipment, and (b) know what they're doing with...

    Insurance renewal

Mine was about £500 with Direct Line, 42 with clean licence and yonks NCB. Can't get upset about it tbh. The only thing that confused me was that it was cheaper with my wife added as second driver. She has six points. That I did not understand.

    Manchester T1 parking

Manchester Airport security is totally random at the moment. Sometimes you walk through, sometimes its half an hour. And what's worse is getting back in to the country. The e-passport gates are out of service so you can wait up to an hour if you arrive at a time when several long hauls come...

    Seat Cover Ideas

Anyone bought rear seat covers for their GT? With autumn and new school term approaching I fear the Avorio might get some hammer. I was wondering if anyone had come across a supplier that makes fitted seat covers for the rear seats, with apertures for the seat belts. I was thinking of good...

    Maserati in the Plough

Typical shoddy Daily Mail reporting. A GT is not a luxury car, its a supercar. Well it is as far as I'm concerned. Wonder if the insurance company will take an offer on the Tridents....
