    Coming back to Maserati?!

I had the fan cutting in and out all the time on my old 08 GT, the relay had got hot and melted, shorting out. A cheapish fix

    Advice - Alfa Mito

I have been running 1.4 multi air turbo 170bhp for years as a runaround when I dont want to get the GT (or now the F type) out of the garage. Has been totally reliable and is tremendous fun to drive. Great first car in the smaller engine versions, parts are very cheap on e bay if you need any.

Hot hatch choices (Golf vs Hyundai?) for a new daily

Well I run a little Alfa multiair turbo runaround when its raining........not in Golf R territory but a perfect little runaround pocket rocket 170 bhp and TCT box. Has proved ultra reliable and great fun to whizz around in.........

Learning the ways of my new "mistress"

All Maseratis coming into the Uk were fitted with Navtrak by Maserati GB before sale. The internal batteries tend to die after about 10 years, and then drain the car battery when parked up. They can be disconnected quite easily. If your cooling fans come on off erratically, as mine did for...

    GT 4 yr service nonsence

I ran my GT for 12 years without changing either the lamdas or carbon things, without any issues. Waste of money to do .........

    Doing it properly this time.

I sold my identical spec/age/colour/mileage 4,2 last October for 26k if it helps. I had it from almost new. Things that should have been done over the years are front springs, front suspension bushes, discs, variator mod, tpms sensors .If they have not been done these are very expensive to do...

Maserati dealers - heaven help us

Jaguar are no better. Went into my local dealer Jardines in Tonbridge with a view to buying a new F-Type. Parked the GT right outside the main showroom door, they could hardly miss a huge silver gleaming GT parked (literally) on their doorstep. And if there is a customer type who is going to...

    This has caught my eye

No it doesn't. But as the kids have now left home for good (hopefully) don't need a 2+2 anymore....

    This has caught my eye

Well I have just gone from a GT to an F type V8 and I agree it has a very different feel. It is a fantastic drive. Technology has moved on as we all know- much as I loved my GT (an amazing car) the Jag does everything just a bit better- better brakes, better ride/handling/better climate/Sat...

18 years of Maserati ownership sadly comes to an end....

For me it was a close toss up between an LC500 and a Jag FType (once I had ruled out a late GT) In the end I decided the Lexus was too big , and the Jag would suit me better. I have no doubt it is an amazing car too......

18 years of Maserati ownership sadly comes to an end....

Well after an early 4200 and then an early GT it is time for a change..I NEARLY went for a late Granturismo but ultimately want a bit more technology....and now the kids have left home I don't need 4 seats anymore.....I have enjoyed (most) of the ownership experience hugely (apart from the odd...

    Cool things the Granturismo does

I have owned my Gt for 11 (ELEVEN!) years- didn't know about these buttons until today!!! Nothing in the handbook. And I took a deposit on it this week......sigh 11 years too late......

E10 fuel from September - can we use it?

The problem is not whether your car will run on E10 (it will) Problems only arise when the car is not used much. A tank of E10, if left unused for any length of time, the Ethanol absorbs water which then sinks to the bottom of the tank. Eventually it mixes with fuel and turn into a white gunk...

QP/GT front subframes - the truth

Totally agree. Maserati GB wipe their hands of their cars once they are over 3 years old. Things that I have had to pay thousands for which were clearly design faults on the GT over the years: Peeling interior trim on a 5 year old GT? Maserati not interested. Rattling variators at 25,000 miles ...

Getting an idea what to look for

Jaguar had major Cylinder bore liner failures on XK V8's , many many complete engines replaced FOC well out of warranty (Google it) Maserati would not have stood by their product in the same way? Ford GB has major overheating problems with the 1.0 Eco boost engine that over heat...

Getting an idea what to look for

It all comes down to money/consumer rights. Yes it was a major design fault that Maserati GB should have admitted to and paid up. Maserati GB have no interest in helping anyone when a car is out of 3 year warranty. Their answer is "should have bought a Maserati extended warranty- that would have...

Getting an idea what to look for

In the UK (and I suspect the US) the machining of the cam caps and fitting non return valves can ONLY be done by Maserati GB/N America. It is not a DIY job. In the US the variators were done under warranty even when out of warranty. Not sure if they still do. Variator failure only affects...
