    Energy crisis

Think Rolls Royce and others are already looking at this approach as part of a more regional solution to power generation. So having more but much smaller generators could be the future. But still no one has addressed the elephant in the room..what do you do with the nuclear waste?

    Energy crisis

No problems around here yesterday. (Upper Eden Valley, Cumbria) Local Shell garage have confirmed deliveries every day for the next month so there shouldn't be an issue. Here's hoping!

    Battery dead in a year!

I did the same with my 2009 QP. Never had a battery problem after that.

The rise of the used car market

I think the market impact of the supply shortages is affecting the whole car market , not just mainstream. So it's a general wider impact which is washing through all of the 2nd hand market to. I guess the impact may vary a bit, but the trend is the same.

The rise of the used car market

2nd hand market increases are being driven by chip availability ( or lack of them) for vehicle ECU'S. Supply shortages are really hammering the new car market. I even had the Mercedes main dealer in Newcastle contact me desperate to buy my 2.5 year old Merc. We're offering £4k more than I paid...

    Ceramic coating

I had my old QP coated with 2 coats of 'Ceramic Pro 9h', which included full bar treatment and swirl removal. Cost me the best part of £1k. The car looked like new when I drove it away...absolutely stunning, that is until I drove it through a rainstorm on the way back from Manchester on the M6...

    Just Jane

When I used to work at the old Avro factory in Woodford back in the 1990's, I once got invited to the annual 'Avro 504' club dinner as a guest. Its is generally considered to be the most exclusive aviation club in the world, which started back in the 1920's by A.V. Roe, for the 'apprentice of...

    ULEZ is expanding

Don't worry the cities and towns will get clean air anyway by default when all the city / town centres are devoid of anywhere to shop!...Everyone will just stop travelling in and decide to go elsewhere.

    Pic of the day

Absolutely! Had an Avro Vulcan parked up outside my office window for years. I think it's the one which they have now got taxiing again under its own engine power although I doubt it will ever fly again. Fantastic iconic machines of yesteryear.

    Quattroporte Vs Listed For Sale

My old QP had the GTS grille and GTS alloys fitted, but it was still a bugger to shift. Had to part ex it for a Mercedes after trying to sell it for 6 months (or rather Shiltech did!...). Not seen it pop up anywhere since a chap from Birmingham bought it from a garage early last year and then...

    Quattroporte Vs Listed For Sale

Given that I struggled for 6 months to get £16k for a 4.7S QP 2009 with just 49k miles on the clock, 18 months ago (and in pristine condition -interior, body and subframe) I am gobsmacked that anyone can think they can get anywhere near £26k. But if they have then hats off to them.

    Northern drive and dine meet

Think it's owned by a wealthy family now. The stunning Victorian bar is from Blackpool Winter Gardens...we met the guy who installed it back in 2018 before Covid. Well worth a visit.....

    Northern drive and dine meet

Not been to the Pheasant before but always keep meaning to. But normally go to the Lakes Distillery across the road which is consistently good for a spot of lunch...and a whisky of course. Storrs Hall is a great place with a stunning backdrop, but it is a bit pricey but much quieter than some...
