I have a trackday coming up and thought I might take the Grancab for a laugh! Bit big and heavy but I’ve hardly driven it since I got it in Jan 19 so would be fun to give it a blast as opposed to same old rides with the Astons

it has the standard valved 4.7 engine exhaust, so will it pass the 105 db noise limit for the track?

Yes. But only if you take it out of Sport for the test. On full revs in Sport you'll be hitting 115-120!

I think you'll be fine. I have never seen a standard GT/GC 4.7 fail a track dB test. at worst, you will need to take it out of sport for the test and for when you pass the trackside mic but I can't see it being an issue. I never had an issue with my GT and the Stradale was fine until I added the Larini cats.

Have fun & I hope the weather is better for you than it is currently

105bd is quite high a standard car would normally be beneath this, as above just keep out of sport mode need the mic to be sure

Thanks for everyone’s responses and I’ll keep out of Sport mode for the tests as suggested. Will be fun to see how such a big and heavy car handles on a circuit!

I see you are based in Norfolk

Is it Snetterton by any chance...?

105 dBs will be a static test...Of course, you want to pass it but it won’t count for sh1te if you get pinged on drive by...
Sorry if this is all known to you. Many trackside dB meters are hardwired to the appropriate council office these days.. No more “Marshall’s discretion” then...
NIMBYs I’m afraid...

Yes Snetterton. I’ll be keeping it out of sport mode all the time to get past the drive-by mikes.

my DB4 has no problem with the limit, so I hope it will be OK with the GC.

Horsham! No I'm not disputing you, but at the Piazza Italia in Horsham, we had a rev off and a standard 4200 is 99dB so 105dB is 4times as loud (logarithmic scale!). Can't remember what the others got but MAF's banana came top...
