Hi,

Sadly it is time for my 2009 QP 4.7 and I to part ways after 5 years due to sub frame corrosion and subsequent MOT failure. Apart from the corrosion, the car is in good mechanical & body condition (see below - not my house btw).

  • No warning lights apart from parking sensor front left needs replacing.
  • Has a personalised number plate ending in MAS
  • Engine - fab!!
I have an offer from WeBuyAnyCar.com (of course) and a couple of garages however it would be great if it could go where it will be appreciated - if there is any interest please let me know asap as I plan to sell this weekend and it only just occurred to me to post here.

Thanks for looking,

Paul

Hi, many thanks for responding - mileage is 70,085. Re: service history, apart from a replacement rear brake assembly done by Maranello Egham some 4+ years ago (for which I have the paperwork) any work/service on the car has been done by local garages over the years (until now just brake pads, oil changes, tyres). I can probably find some of the receipts at a push but no more than that (am not providing any to WBAC.com). The service indicator is active on the dashboard so one is definitely due. The last MOT also identified that the springs needed to be replaced (one has been done) - I did buy all the parts from Maserati (~£700) which I planned to sell on a forum/E-bay but will include if we did come to some arrangement.

In the interest of full disclosure - here are the details of the MOT failure, if you are still interested in making an offer then please let me know asap and I will provide some contact details.

RE: Timing, I have an appointment with WBAC.com tomorrow am and there is one other garage that would like to view (time permitting but most likely not).

Whatever the outcome, and I totally understand if it's not to be, I appreciate the interest.

Best, Paul

Hi Mark and thanks - that is very useful and for sure WBAC's reputation goes before them (and is well deserved) - I am expecting the usual 'difficulties' on the day of sale re: the valuation.

Will see how it goes and report back.

Hi Paul,

I'm interested in making an offer if you could let me know what WBAC have offered? A modern QP would go nicely with my 222...

Thanks,
John

Hi John, WBAC have offered 11,290 (subject to arm wrestling) - I am literally off to see them in 10 mins - you can text your offer to 07767 664497 np. You know my preference is a good home :)

Actually I declared "no MOT" on the application but apparently they don't check the reasons until you are there in person. Interestingly, on their site I just now requested two valuations - one with MOT and one without, there was £600 difference which confirms they are not looking at the information until the appointment. It was also going so well ('body' - perfect, engine - 'perfect' - and they are) until the MOT discussion. Motorway.com give an 'exciting' (but unrealistic I feel) valuation for the car with an MOT (~18k). I hadn't looked at the cost of the welding required to get it through the MOT (already have the springs) on the basis that I was going to change the car anyway and it would be a hassle with little cost benefit (as repairing in trade would be economic to do whereas using retail would not). Seems I was mistaken about this...

RE: WBAC.com - the nature of the beast...the rep was taking about variations in the quoted valuation before we had left the office or even seen the car (the business model is clear).

Motorway is a dealer only auction , there's no cost to you , I've just sold a GR Yaris through motorway , they valued my car based on my description which has to be accurate , they request loads of pictures then they put it on their daily auction , in my case with their valuation as the reserve which it met

If Richard Grace is interested I'd call him and let him make an offer
