Just punted the below description of my issue over to Autofficina with a view to getting it booked in and looked at...
- Last week, when sat in the drivers seat, when I attempted exit the car by opening the interior door handle, the door handle was giving me resistance when pulling on it, and it didn't open the door. To exit the car I opened the drivers window, and used the exterior handle to release the door
- Both exterior handle electronic microswitch and physical release button both work and open the door... it is just the internal door handle that's not working
- Typical issues in this area point towards a plastic locating tab (on the back of the door handle) that holds the door release cable mechanism in place... however when removing the door card, the plastic tab is fully intact
- However, the metal door release cable itself appears to be 'stuck' and hasn't got free and full movement in and out of its black plastic sheath... which may explain why the interior door handle is experiencing resistance
- The door card is now back on, but I've left off the trim/fascia parts and put them in a box for now
