Phil you are right and I like it even more as it is a weekend toy. Following MarkMas through the Cotswolds last weekend reminded me how beautiful the QPV is though. I am not sure even my man maths could make it work as a daily driver at 25k miles per annum.....

You lucky git. I have my eye on a Rapide. I am very tempted.

When I come to actually having the time to driving a car I would like to try one.

Just keeping an eye out at the moment. A QP GTS seems possibly a better option than a Rapide but I guess I'll have to drive both to see.

I drove a Rapide S a year ago. It was a new one with the current interior and................

I hated it. I really wanted to like it. I really like the quirky/beautiful lines but it just felt so “disconnected” and unwieldy.

It did not sound like what I believed it would.

Left me cold.

Nuff said I suppose

I get the impression the Rapide is a bit tight on space at the rear and not a real 4 seater.

Spot on, Aston’s are claustrophobic at best as our DB9 shows with wedding guests. The Rapide is roomier but not a proper 4 seater like the GTS where the bride and groom can travel together as newlyweds to the venue.

Mine isn’t. Mind you, mine doesn’t pretend to have four seats! I take it the DB9’s a bit of a squeeze; more a 2+2 than a four-seater? I’ve never driven or been in a Rapide, but they do little for me aesthetically.

Still cluttered for a 2 seater compared to a 458 say...

But the 458 is interior was designed by Fisher Price. Always find modern Ferrareis over styled inside compared to the elegant minimalistic say McLaren....Old Vantage is beautiful inside but the new one has taken a leaf out of Ferrari Fisher Price design and is a mess......DB9 is not great in the back but it never need more than a 2 plus 2 and not a four seater in the sense of the word. Aston call it a 2 plus 2.

I sat in a 488 earlier this year and found that the Ferrari interior as sublime. No dash satnav or excessive buttons to clutter the interior, everything is controlled from the steering wheel .

Yeah, I do like the 488 interior. It's a wonderful place to be. As, I think, is the 458. I personally like the interior of my Vantage very much. It has the last of the old layouts (if you see what I mean) and I much prefer it to the Merc interiors of the new Vantage, DB11, DBS and so on. It's certainly true that the Vantage isn't exactly spacious inside, but it does have a lot of bonnet out front and a perfectly good-sized boot behind, so inevitably cabin size is a bit more limited. If I was a couple of inches taller than I already am I may find it a bit more claustrophobic.

I tried a db9 before I bought the Granturismo and the back seats of the db9 are pretty much unusable.

Very similar to the Nissan GTR. If anyone of any height is in the front seat anyone with legs shouldn’t bother getting in unless they are a child.

Hence why I got the GTS.

The Rapide is 4 door and 4 seats. Though what restricts it is the small opening of the rear doors. Which is poor. Once you sink into the seats it is enclosing but comfortable.

The GTS feels more claustrophobic due to the small rear windows (and possibly because my interior was all black).

Both can sit adults. If I had 4 adults in my household I would t get a Rapide. But since I have small children I think it would suit us perfectly.

My wife always found the back of the GTS claustrophobic, but I agree regarding the cause being the small windows. The boys, who were close on 5'10" by the time I sold it, were perfectly fine in there. It's a proper four-seater.

I'm really enjoying having only two seats again. It's been 25 years since I had a car with only two seats. Love it!
