Great work everyone.

I am consciously not weighing myself until the end of the month but have stepped up my exercise, am on day 18 of no alcohol and and (mostly) watching what I eat..

Morning all,

This thread is noticeably quieter than last year!

I’ve had another decent week this week in terms of sticking to my plan, with no booze and plenty of exercise. Below are the results from today’s weigh-in, with results compared to the beginning of the month.

Weight - 87.3kg ———> 85.2kg
Body Fat - 25.4% ———> 23.9%
Lean mass - 65.1kg (so 22.2kg of fat) ———> 64.8kg (so 20.4kg of fat)
Body Water - 51.3% ———> 53.0%
Visceral Fat - 11.5 ———> 11.0
Blood Pressure - 124/77, pulse 59 ———> 116/66, pulse 58

This means overall I’ve lost 2.1kg in January so far, and 1.8kg of it is fat. Lots of cycling, 1-2 weights session a week, and press-ups every day seems to be working

Hope everyone else is doing well?

Well done you lot. Good efforts all round.

I’ve yet to go to the gym (as it’s temporarily closed) or have any AF days yet this year. But miraculously, no weight gain. So that’s a result. And the training injuries from last year (calf and pec) have enjoyed the break from exercise and seem to have cleared up.
So, overall, I should be quite well set to re-start, once the time/inclination/sunshine reappears.

Year to date results here. A bit of weightloss, but the before and after pics show less fat and more defined muscle.

You can see what I mean by the daily weight fluctuations, so if losing kg is what motivates you, perhaps weigh every day and take the average.

Another tough week work wise meant only a couple of hit sessions and not the best diet in the world. Long hours and a lack of free time means less opportunity to prepare healthy options and as a result more chance of eating rubbish. Sweets have crept back in but I managed to stave off the desire to get a takeaway in by making pizza from scratch at home (there is some veg on there honest!)

Not healthy per se but a heck of a lot better than having something delivered. All of which has resulted in another lb off pretty much, so at least I’m moving in the right direction.
80808Can’t be too annoyed about dipping (just) below 13stone for the first time in a long time on the weekend before my 40th. Next weekend will probably bring some bad food and (fizzy) drink so my plan is to give myself a couple of days of enjoyment before doubling down through Feb. With the days starting to get longer and having just had our back garden redone I’m looking forward to getting out and doing some outdoor exercise/ running (words I thought I’d never type!)

Morning all,

I’m pleasantly surprised by my weekly weigh in results this week. I’ve had another good week in terms of lots of cycling, daily press-ups, and no booze, but I felt as though I was snacking too much on biscuits, banana bread, and chocolate, so I wasn’t really expecting all that much. However, below are the results from today’s weigh-in, with results compared to the beginning of the month.

Weight - 87.3kg ———> 84.8kg
Body Fat - 25.4% ———> 23.1%
Lean mass - 65.1kg (so 22.2kg of fat) ———> 65.2g (so 19.6kg of fat)
Body Water - 51.3% ———> 53.0%
Visceral Fat - 11.5 ———> 10.5
Blood Pressure - 124/77, pulse 59 ———> 116/65, pulse 57

This means overall my weight has reduced by 2.5kg in January, I’ve gained 0.1kg of muscle and I’ve reduced my fat by 2.6kg.

All of that means that for the first time in the last two and bit years my metabolic age is lower than my real age, and apparently I now have the body of a 47yr old!!!!…

So that’s month 1 almost over and overall I’ve seen a 4.5kg reduction, 1.8% reduction in body fat, 1% reduction in subcutaneous fat and a reduction of my BMI by 1.4. The rate of loss has started to tail off so it may be time to refresh the diet and think about different forms of exercise.

Excellent stuff. The scales are pretty nifty, are they not? Very pleased at my metabolic age (30!) although I have no idea how they think they can calculate that. I need more skeletal muscle and less sub-cutaneous fat. Please my visceral fat is also 7. Was expecting (fearing) it would be much worse.

News today of a woman who kept her mother's body in a freezer for 10 years as she didn't want to move out of their flat. I don't think there was any foul play.
I guess after the first year, it becomes the new normal?
