You don't need to press the accelerator.

In the beginning the idea was turn on the ignition, pump the accelerator twice then start the car.

In reality the pumping of the accelerator just delayed you starting the car and allowing the dash lights to go off and for the clutch to adjust itself to the wear.

I can confirm that it works 100% and makes a big difference.

Ok, so it's just like starting on old diesel - waiting for the glow plug light to go out before starting?!
Thanks for that

Looks great. Don't think the MC Shift makes it harder to sell the car.

There are plenty of people just like you and me who only want an MC Shift.

I have it on the digital rev counter as well. Can't remember how I set it up. You will have to read the manual I am afraid. There are a lot of other hidden settings that are worth adjusting as well in the menu system.

I got to say I have no jerkiness at slow speed. Even when reversing I can touch the accelerator very gently and slide back slowly.

Are you doing the trick of turning on the ignition waiting for all the dash lights to go out before starting the car? This gives it time to calibrate the clutch and stops the slow speed jerkiness.

I don't have the figures but I was told how the sales breakdown of the 4.7 has gradually moved in favour of the full auto. For the first 8 or so months of 4.7 production, the auto was not available and then some of the automated clutch demand has transferred to the Stradale. With the GT Sport they have tried to put all the things that people want into the full auto, hence the shift in sales.

You guys need to enjoy the automated clutch car whilst you can as the GranTurismo is the last Ferrari/Maserati to use it.

That's interesting Bob & I am certainly enjoying the automated clutch but then I have not had to shell out for a replacement yet!

Wonderful looking car
I can confirm the waiting for lights to go off make it **** of a lot smoother!
My digital rev counter comes on when radio is switched off which is most of the time so that I can hear the popping and crackling of the exhaust!
Enjoy

I agree with this. no need to pump the accelerator. I turn the key half way and usually wait for dash lights to go off. in fact, if you listen closely you can hear a motor whirring from somewhere (guessing it's the clutch recalibration?) when that sound stops, usually that is my cue to start full ignition which coincides with the lights I think. works a charm, and the days I forget to do this I sorely regret it!

so MC Shifts should hold their value better? less of them around going forward combined with demand for manuals from 'purists' plus the dying breed of V8... I would hope so!

There is a setting in the main menu on the radio sat/ nav to switch on/ off the digital rev counter. I have mine set to show directional arrows when using sat nav, and the radio/ cd/ hard drive display permanently off. That way I get rev counter most of the time or driving arrows when using satnav.

Easy to argue that one both ways. Understand your logic but look at the QPV where values are the other way round.

The GTS Auto does a pretty good job of manual control but I see why people like the automated clutch cars.

Im confused on the rev counter track are we talking about the centre of the dash where you have the gear number and either side it goes red/yellow/green or is there an upgrade on later models.

Pics always help lol

Get it so its the rev counter on the dash, didn't realise but you can get the sat nav/radio to display outputs onto the dashboard... Ive never read the manual and had to go out to the car to take a look at options... its now back off as I just have gear/rev counter on display all the time.

Just a quick post to say thank you for the heads up on letting the ignition lights go out before starting.

Having adopted this process the difference in how smooth the clutch operates is huge. Thanks muchly!! :thumb3:
