3200 front brake sensors

Hi all,
I had my front wheels off checking my brake pads the other day, and was surprised to find that I don't have front brake wear sensors. I have wires coming into the wheel arch with taped up ends, but no connectors - presumably they were cut off at some point in the past -maybe if the brake warning light was playing up.

I've found them on eurospares for £8.20 each:
http://www.eurospares.co.uk/partsListing.asp?M=3&Mo=698&A=1&B=41507&S=&ID4=1698889

Would anyone with a 3200 (or indeed another model if the parts are the same) be able to take a couple of pics next time they have a front wheel off, and perhaps inspect/take pics of the wires to the sensor and let me know how they connect up?

Would really appreciate it!

Thanks

Interesting this one.....

Has anyone ever seen a brake pad warning light go off on their maserati?

Heard of a few instances where the pads had been down to the metal backing but no warning light had gone off in the car. Leaving me to questions if these sensors even work on any of our cars?

Thanks

there's only one sensor anyway so theoretically you could have 3 sets of pads down to the metal with no indication.

If you keep an eye on your pads, then no.

Just dont assume that the inner pads have the same thickness as the outer pads. Every 6 months just take the wheel off and have a look. Both front and rear pad material is 11.5mm, with backing plate is 17mm, so you can work out what % you have remaining. If my pad material was 5mm or less, I would change them.

Fair enough - do you reckon I shouldn't bother replacing them?

Agree with Matt, if you are observant then you will know and also should feel when they are running out.

Additionally alot of aftermarket pads dont have the sensors, but like the Formula Dynamics one, there is a squel pad, that starts squeling when your start to go low, so you dont end up with metal on metal.
